And Stede fucking Bonnet just had to choose this particular, miserable morning to waltz his posh, poncy arse back into Izzy’s life.
“Oh, I—well, I didn’t—terribly sorry about, uhm—about the interruption, I’ll just—”
“Will you,” Izzy grinds out, vaguely in the direction of where he thinks Bonnet might be, “shut the fuck up?”
Bonnet, mercifully, does stop talking.
“Fucking. Shit, fuck,” comes a groan from behind Izzy, a trembling hand landing on Izzy’s bare shoulder for purchase, “what the fuck.”
It’s small comfort that Edward sounds about as destroyed as Izzy feels.

Summary
“What.”
Izzy glances away from Bonnet’s face, down at the steaming cup of tea he’s holding out towards him, and then back up again, brows raised. Bonnet lifts the cup up a little higher, making it clink delicately against its matching porcelain saucer.
“I asked,” Bonnet repeats, apparently entirely unbothered by Izzy’s hesitance, “if you’d like a cup of tea?”
Izzy narrows his eyes at him. “You’re bringing me tea?”
Bonnet’s smile widens, as if Izzy’s finally on the right track to whatever the fuck Bonnet’s end goal is, here. “Yes, well. I’m trying to.”
Which has never happened before. And is also highly suspicious. Izzy tries to take a surreptitious sniff of the supposed tea. “Are you trying to poison me?"
[5 times Izzy can’t make sense of Bonnet’s ridiculous fucking behaviour, 5 times Stede feels bafflingly soft about Israel Hands, plus the one time they (and Ed) finally

Summary
Set after season 2. When the English come for the remaining pirates, they find hostages readily available in one Widow Bonnet and her family. With Stede's family in custody, his ex-wife under a death threat, the peace that Ed and Stede had found is finally shattered apart. And something is stirring in those depths, a desperation and darkness to do whatever it takes to save what is Stede's. The Kraken isn't the only creature stirring in the deep.

Ever since the scene of Stede pinning Doug with a knife and growling "unhand me or bleed" I really felt that little glimpse of darkness really needed to be properly explored. Buckle up for a ride.
