Summary
Stede Bonnet didn’t expect to find himself on a mission to save his ex-wife from Blackbeard’s wrath. He certainly didn’t expect to be sailing with his supposed true love’s ‘first worst enemy’.
Nevertheless, after giving up his fortune and identity, reunited with his crew, Stede sets out on this difficult journey. With the help of new friends and a familiar enemy, perhaps Stede can even become a better sailor, a better pirate captain, and find the true meaning of love along the way.Izzy Hands had devoted his life to serving the legend of Blackbeard. When he finds himself no longer able to protect Edward from himself, or protect himself from Edward, he doesn’t expect to survive it. Saved from death by more than one man who’s definitely supposed to be dead, Izzy might just find that a life without Blackbeard is not only possible, but good.

Summary
Sapphire took them into a dressing room, deserted in that moment as everyone was either out performing or out drinking. With a tight grip on Lucius’s hand still, Izzy was leading him to the large floor length mirror in the corner that was surrounded by hundreds of pictures. As they got closer, Lucius could see the pictures were of the queens, spanning decades. He could tell from the picture quality, some polaroids, some old film camera prints, some printed on normal paper from a phone. Every single one of them seemed to hold a memory of laugher, of joy, of beautiful, unbridled self-expression. Just looking at them was making Lucius’s smile grow, like the happiness was seeping out of the photos and infecting him in the best way.
Whilst out at a bar, Izzy gets recognised. But not for the Izzy Hands Lucius knows...

“The date. Today. You keep the log, you must know the date.” Lucius ran his eyes over Izzy and took in his form, almost vibrating with what he could only describe as some kind of anxiety, uncomfortableness, something he hadn’t seen on Izzy in a long time.
Izzy doesn't seem to like today, and Lucius needs to know why.
Set post Season 2 but like the last ep of Season 2 didn't happen, because, you know... just meaningless fluff.

Izzy’s face was as rough as the rest of him. Craggy, wind beaten and sun-spotted, like a seaside cliff or a weathered dock. He dressed smartly, stayed neat, but not much more than that. Wee John’s face was adorned by rouge and powder, blue grease paint and black charcoal. Izzy’s was adorned only by a small X, marking the spot.
Glimpsing his reflection alongside John’s in the ashtray, Izzy thought to let himself be curious for once in his life. He dared to imagine his own face, painted like something fine, like the china in Stede’s crates below deck. Like something built for more than utility.

Summary
As Izzy paces, he starts humming quietly to himself. He has always been fond of music, since he was a boy. He has a good voice and an ear for tone, which was more relevant when he was younger and spent time around civilized people. There isn’t much use for the musically inclined aboard a pirate ship, beyond the occasional shanty. This is especially true aboard The Marianne.
Hornigold has no use for “frivolous” talents. It is fortunate that Izzy is skilled in other ways as well.

Izzy's warm hand on Lucius' cheek is unexpected, but it pulls him back out of his own head. "You're really not having a laugh, are you?" he asks quietly enough not even Buttons would dare to listen in.
"There are dangerous men in this port." Lucius feels like he's pulling words through the top of a poorly-bored hole in a frozen lake with nothing but his teeth. "That's all."
"What, worse than me?"
Lucius knows he should laugh. "Yes." Izzy's thumb slides over Lucius' cheekbone, and for a terrifying moment, Lucius thinks he's going to choose now to finally kiss him, as if Lucius hasn't been screaming at him to do it in everything but semaphore for weeks. "Very much so," he tacks on, just in case the first yes was drowned out by the blood pounding in his ears. "No offense meant."

It’s as if a thick mist descends on the crew. They can no longer see the ship, or each other.
“Past” Buttons voice echoes unnaturally around them.

Summary
Every year for twenty-five years, Izzy's body has relived the birth of his only son and his death the following day. When the day arrives, Izzy is apprehensive about sharing the truth with his new lovers, Ed and Stede. To his shock, they care for him and support him as he remembers his past and suffers through the present. The day will always be his worst, but being so cared for makes it bearable. Izzy comes to terms with what has happened to him and begins to plan for the future. He hopes that the future will include a second chance at a family, with Ed and Stede.
Ed and Stede rushed to his side and embraced him gently until his breathing settled. Izzy inhaled, decision made.
“At least you should know what you’re getting into. I won’t hold it against you if you send me to my quarters after I tell you. Twenty-five years ago, I gave birth to a son. I was alone in a freezing attic. It was so cold, and I did all I could. I held him against my chest to sleep, wrapped in my coat. But when I woke up, he was dead, frozen to death. Every year since then, my body relives the birth. I will feel every single contraction until the agony stops. Yes, it will hurt, and I will scream. Do you still want me here?”
