It cupped Toby’s mouth, nails digging into the sides of his cheek. He tried to scream but it all got muffled around the things hand. It pushed him back, until he was pressed between the wall and the thing's body. The pressure released enough light and it was close for Toby to confirm: his monster had no face.

Tim is new to the neighbourhood. He has a job at the local chain coffee shop, he works Mondays to Saturdays, 4am to 1pm. Toby is flatmate but Tim acts as his parent because the kid is seventeen and alone right now. Masky leaves one piece of advice to being an impromptu parent / brother figure: Hitting Toby is ineffective. Masky laments about Toby being a piece of no good shit and how it’s entire fault Tim’s in this situation in the first place for all of half the message. He looks up and the boy hits his head against the door. Tim winces in sympathy.

Scar brushed his arms over Grian’s own and for a brief second everything burnt, thawing the ice that Grian hadn’t even realised had settled in his bones. By Scar’s harsh gasp, he had felt it too. When Scar moved back into his own personal space, the cold came back full force.
