Summary
It's when the music quietens down— not completely into silence, but enough that Ives could speak normally through the mic, that they make eye contact. Tim noticed, even through the lenses of Ives’ glasses, the shine in his eyes, how slightly out of breath he was, how his face scoured the entire venue, his smile subconscious and addictive.
His smile, something so brilliant, amazing and Tim hadn't known he wished to see it so much, faltered for just a moment when their gazes met and Tim felt a stab of uncertainty crawl through him when Ives’ face turned apologetic, reminders of just the first song punching through their arteries.
“I’m sorry,” he said, and Tim's ears rang with how honest he sounded, Ives’ voice echoing amongst the cheers, but still, his eyes did not leave Tim's. Almost as if giving him a hidden explanation that the rest of the world was not privy to, “Every single song is about you.”
Everything. Nothing.

Her comms buzzing, but she can’t reach up to tap it to ask for assistance. Or she could, and fall painfully to her death before even finishing her sentence and traumatise her teammates for the rest of their probably short-spanned lives— except maybe Superboy. He’s got that forever sixteen thing going on.
He’s also got an ability called flight, which would be really useful right now. You know, from saving Cissie from certain death.
“Arrowette?” Robin’s voice breaks through, grabbing her attention away from how her scraped hands were stinging, cuts lined with dirt and small stones, “How’s everything on your end?”
Oh great, Cissie grits her teeth, I got everyone to safety but now I’m hanging off the side of a building and my arm is also broken but yeah, everything’s fine. Except that I’m going to die.

Summary
The call from Central Command comes as quickly and abruptly as it always does. It’s Ed’s sheepish voice on the other end of the phone, brashly requesting for Winry to make preparations for the long trip home and repair her automail. Winry, of course, is immediately concerned— lately, Ed has been breaking her automail far more often than, well… ever, to the point that Winry's considering just sticking with Ed for a few weeks wherever he travels, just to get her in the habit of maintenance.
So she’s awfully pleased when Ed enters her house to see her arm fully intact, and extremely displeased to note how Ed’s skin was red and puffy, pulled taught where the metal was attached. Ed was sweating, trying her best to stay still, every movement causing a torrent of pain flooding through her. Before Winry could usher him in, Alphonse appeared behind Ed, carrying their luggage and gently nudging her inside.

In Ronan's arms, Gansey looked breakable. Ronan hadn't thought Gansey could look anything of the sort. Even when Whelk had held him at gunpoint and Ronan had tumbled into the ER to find Gansey with a broken thumb and a wild panic in his eyes, he hadn't seemed breakable even then— panicked and mess? Absolutely. Never breakable though. But this Gansey? The one breathing softly and shivering in his arms despite the glaring summer heat? This was a Gansey that Ronan seldom saw, if at all. This was a Gansey Ronan wished didn’t exist.
Ronan Lynch, for as long as he could remember since his father's death, had not been a gentle person. He was rough edges and bitter words and anger. But when carrying Gansey back to his car, Ronan thinks that he's never held something so carefully in his life. He walked slowly and surely, gripping onto Gansey tightly, one arm hooked under Gansey's knees and the other at his back to press him into Ronan’s chest, his head resting in the crook of Ronan’s neck.

Summary
The worst thing about any apocalypse is the amount of dust that gets into Cissie's eyes. To be fair though, Cissie's only really been in one apocalypse (so far) and even though the robots hunting her and her friends down were relentless in their pursuit, she'd rather only stick to one.
The dust isn't as big an issue as Cissie makes it out to be despite complaining endlessly about how it's getting in her eyes and in the grooves of her left arm (stolen from a robot after it ripped hers out) and making it hard to see, a simple pair of goggles does the trick fine.
Until Anita's coughing up blood and refusing to open her eyes or look at Cissie or even let Cissie help her because the dust is going everywhere and the coughing isn't stopping and Cissie doesn't know what to do or how to help or—
