Charlie had to control a gasp every time, reasoning that Nick wasn’t aware that he was touching Charlie and was just fidgeting. Yeah - fidgeting. Nick had ADHD and he fidgeted all the time. Like when Nick would look like he was going to reach to grasp Charlie’s hand but he was just flexing his fingers. Like when Nick would look like he was going to lean into a hug but was just bouncing on his toes. Like when Nick would look like he was starting to reach for Charlie’s curls but would just be stretching his arms out. And Nick was a tactile person. He clearly got a lot of information from touching things and he almost couldn’t help himself. More things filed away in his “Things Never To Address With Nick” box.
