People usually present and then deal with the awkward aftermath of said presentation and all the other joys of puberty before they reach adulthood.
Giorno presents, takes over a criminal organization in his teenage years, and then deals with the consequences of his presentation during one innocuous medical check-up:
“I take it you’ll be changing my prescription then.”
“Oh, no. You aren’t taking any suppressants for now. You have to be off them for at least a year.”A story in which becoming a functioning omega again is not the only life changing epiphany that Giorno has to grapple with.
Or AKA a story in which Giorno and Mista stubbornly fall into a series of misunderstandings, assumptions, and emotional crises and Polnareff's and the readers' patience decrease with every chapter.

Summary
It was strange to have people close to him. Sometimes he found himself trying to keep them at arm's length, to put up barriers, but that could be hard to do when Mista barreled past them, seemingly unaware that they were there to begin with.
Mista with his casual touches, his nicknames, and jokes that were reserved almost exclusively for Giorno, made him wonder about things he’d never even begun to consider before. Though he often ignored any inkling of something more than friendship with Mista, there had been before Mista, when romance hadn’t even been a speck in his line of vision. He’d maybe even thought himself incapable of those sorts of feelings. Then again, he’d never even had a proper friend before he joined Passione, and he’d thought himself a bit incapable of anything beyond keeping acquaintances.
It was strange what people caring about you did to a person. Giorno’s life had been so devoid of any level of love or intimacy, it only made sense he’d thought himself unable to receive or give those types of connections.

The waitress does not seem to notice. “I just have to know,” she gushes. “How did you two meet?”
“Skydiving,” Mista says in blind panic, as Giorno says, “At a restaurant.” They share a bewildered look with each other.
“We first met at a restaurant, through a mutual friend,” Giorno says carefully, which is actually pretty close to the truth.
“A skydiving restaurant,” Mista blurts out. “Eating while jumping out a plane. It’s very common in the South of Italy.”

Giorno and Mista have to go on an undercover mission on a couples cruise ship as Romeo Romano and Marco Rossi to track down a Stand user. This would be fine, except they're dumbasses, and then Mista gets hit by a memory Stand which makes him forget the whole experience. Shenanigans ensue. -
