“Still stressed?” He asks, and Robby thinks there’s a flash of something in his eyes that he can’t quite place.
Robby sighs, but not heavily. “Of course.”
Unfolding his arms, Whitaker reaches over and lightly touches Robby’s thigh—just above the knee. With a smirk, he says, “well, nothing that a good book won’t fix, right?”
The touch is burning. Scalding, even. And there’s an inflection in Whitaker’s voice that has alarm bells ringing in his ears.As Whitaker pulls his hand away, his fingers curl slightly, brushing more against his thigh before retracting completely. It can be considered innocent, along with the words. He holds a gaze with Robby, the smirk still present, taunting.
The kid is playing a dangerous game. And he knows it.
After a grueling shift, a doctor and a med student deal with stress in a mutually beneficial way.

Robby’s gaze roamed across Dennis's face, tracing the planes and sharp angles of his features like he was trying to commit them to memory. He already had a long time ago. The horrible, aching knot in his chest dedicated to Dennis was a piece of Robby that he tried, time and time again, to rip out. Always to no avail.
If he had anything to come back for, it’d be this one thing.
"Marry me," Robby said.
Robby, about to head out for his sabbatical and never return, thinks to hell with it—nothing matters except for the very real, very inappropriate feelings he's been harboring for his first-year resident. So he proposes. And before he can take it back, Whitaker says yes.

“I’m not that young, sir,” Whitaker mumbled, tapping ash like it was muscle memory. “And it’s not a new habit. Been smoking since I snuck a pack of Newports from my brother’s stash when I was thirteen.”
“How old are you now?”
Whitaker turned to look him in the eye as he took a long drag. “Twenty six," he said like a question.
Robby’s gaze was fixated on the point where Whitaker’s lips wrapped around the filter of the cigarette. Huh. He was right. Twenty six wasn't that young.
Robby finds out Whitaker smokes, and why, then crosses several professional boundaries in his pursuit to take care of the younger man.

Mortified by the experience he can only find comfort in the fact he will never see this stranger ever again. That is until that man appears in class as a guest lecturer a couple days later.Michael Robinavitch is taking some time off, over the anniversary of his mentor's death. Feeling too cooped up inside his own home he decides to get in touch with some old friends at the University of Pittsburgh. He is invited as a guest lecturer when when he runs into a particular man who catches his attention.
After their encounter at the library, the two men keep running into each other. Seemingly tied by an invisible magnetic force.
Or; After embarrassing himself in front of a hot older man, Dennis keeps running in to him. The med student tries his best to hide the fact that he's homeless, but the closer he gets to Michael Robinavich, the more difficult it becomes to keep up his facade.
