Tom Riddle discards the idea of making Horcruxes when he realizes there is an easier option: make the Master of Death fall in love with him. Easy right? There are just a few problems. Harry withheld a snort. Riddle knew perfectly well what Harry meant by that. Harry could see it on his face. Whatever, I don’t have time for this. He still had to plan on how to deal with the Dursleys.
“Today is August 2nd, 1995,” Harry deadpanned, relishing in the way those words caught Riddle off guard. The feeling sent a jolt up his spine.
“How the– I traveled 50 years into the future?!” The sheer befuddlement and shock in those words were enough to make Harry believe that he’d gotten the date wrong.
