Summary
Every prey hybrid would call Kaveh foolish for his actions — for getting close to a predator and challenging him all the time. But he never understood the fear. Alhaitham may be sharp-tongued and rude at times, but he was the brightest mind Kaveh ever met. Alhaitham focuses greatly on himself at all times. However, he does not do so out of a disregard for others; instead, it is a result of his rationality.
Kaveh swore up and down Alhaitham was nothing like the rude and stuck-up alphas, that he was different and would never hurt Kaveh in any way, shape or form. It felt like a fact to him — the grass was green, the sky was blue, and Alhaitham was the perfect mate that he could envision.
Or: Alhaitham's jealousy leads to a mutual confession.

"Ah, I forget myself! Introductions are in order," Siraj says, chipper like he isn't sealing Kaveh's cataclysmic fate. "We're a rather small crew, so you'll make the rounds in no time! If you'd turn just so, this is my secretary and receptionist. He does a lot of the paperwork around here."
Time moves in slow motion. The man surely takes a million years to turn around, or at least it feels that way to Kaveh, who is stricken by the inexplicable urge to vomit all over his desk. Gooseflesh erupts down his skin as familiar dual-toned eyes meet horrified red ones.
"Please give a warm welcome to Alhaitham, our newest hire!"
After a decade of no contact, Kaveh and Alhaitham reunite in a stuffy office building. Neither of them belong there.

Summary
When Kaveh and Alhaitham go over to Cyno and Tighnari's house for dinner one night, an unfortunate mix-up in the kitchen leaves Kaveh thoroughly stoned - and utterly convinced the floor is plotting to kill him.
Spectacularly high, he spends the rest of the evening glued to Alhaitham's side, much to the considerable emotional inconvenience of Alhaitham's poor, yearning heart.

Summary
When Kaveh and Alhaitham became a couple, everyone thought they would break up within the month.
…And everyone had been wrong, thank you very much. They survived a full year sharing a home, sharing a life, sharing a cat.
And really, Kaveh should consider one year and three months quite an achievement, given that this was Alhaitham he had been putting up with for all that time, with his absurd idiosyncrasies and infuriating jabs. It should have been obvious from the beginning that Kaveh would never be able to exchange wedding rings with someone with such an impressively awful eye for interior design.
Or: Kaveh breaks up with Alhaitham. But they keep shared custody of the cat.

Summary
Where during their Akademiya days, Alhaitham accidentally marked Kaveh during a post-party night and he doesn't remember a single thing the day after. Kaveh, who is an Omega, remembers and tries to let Alhaitham know about the mark on his neck but then a fight happened. They clashed together due to different opinions about the paper they were working on together, causing Alhaitham to say scathing words that permanently scarred Kaveh.
