The summer after fifth year has just begun, the students are buzzing with excitement and discussing plans for the break. All except Harry Potter. Sirius is gone, Voldemort is back, and he's not prepared to handle either of those things. In an attempt to get away from it all, Harry tries to kill himself. But instead of relief, he gets constant supervision for the summer in the form of Remus Lupin and his tiny cottage in a middle-of-nowhere town. Remus who is also grieving the loss of his best friend and understands Harry better than he thinks. Remus offers Harry another chance and Harry unknowingly offers Remus the same.

He tells Draco he’s sorry, that he’d wanted Draco to be his first and Draco holds him and says it’s not his fault. Harry tells Draco that he wants to pretend everything is okay. Draco says that he’s not sure he can, that Harry’s so far away like a ghost. He’s transparent with thin ribs and so many injuries and he’s wailing now... Draco, that is. He’s crying for him and Harry’s crying too.
It’s not long before Harry is so gone that he can’t tell what’s real and what’s not. He can’t tell if he’s in the dungeon or throne room or with his friends or his boyfriend or his godfather. Nothing makes sense, everything hurts, and there’s no denying the truth of what he’s become.
