“Mike, we have to go.” Will rested a moment, wincing in pain. He placed a hand on his injury, and in moments, his hand was soaked in blood. The boy stifled a groan. “It’s not safe here. Something’s gonna come. We- we have to go.” There was now an extra sense of urgency in his voice.

Will shook his head. “Nah, not really. I mean, I might have gone to church when I was really young, but I don’t remember all that well.” He cracked a smile. A genuine one this time. “I know for a fact, though, that I've never been in one of these things before. How does this even work?”

The Wanderer groaned. He hated Sumeru’s desert with a burning passion. The sand, the heat, it was truly aggravating. Nothing like that was dangerous to his unique constitution, but it was annoying nonetheless.

Since his erasure from Irminsul’s data, Wanderer believed himself to be safe from the clutches of the Doctor. However, he is proven wrong on a seemingly innocent afternoon, when the Second Harbinger himself appears, memory perfectly intact, with absolutely no intentions of letting the puppet wander free.
Wanderer's memories are altered, and he is convinced once again that he can be a god. But... does he even want that, anymore?

Just like Jonathan said. A beautiful mystery, wrapped up in one of the most complicated packages Will’s ever seen. “Yeah,” he murmurs, resting his chin in his palm. “Yeah, I get it.”
“Wheelers, huh?” Jonathan murmurs, with a slight smile. “Got some kinda spell over us, man.”

Mike's breath hitched again, not out of fear but something else— something he was too afraid to name, something he had suspected for a long time and buried deep.
Across the MAC-Z, Will wiped at the blood under his nose.
He’s beautiful, Mike thought fleetingly— unable to control it, and secretly not wanting to either.
Then Will fell to his knees, and time snapped right back into place like a broken rubber band.
