“Our original anniversary, Daniel,” Armand says, kissing him again, “is the fourth of September, nineteen-seventy-three.”
Daniel grabs his hips, stilling him where he’s been gently grinding. “Hang on a sec.”
Armand sits up, a little peeved, his hands on Daniel’s chest, blinking down at him. “What?”
“You consider that to be our anniversary?” Daniel asks, huffing a disbelieving laugh.
“Well, yes. That was the day we met after all. Although technically you could say it was the night before, when I saw you in Polynesian Mary’s and you looked at me like I was something to eat but—”
Daniel presses two fingers to Armand’s lips to halt his rambling. “The night you took over my body and started torturing me? That’s our anniversary?”
Armand sticks his tongue out and licks his fingers. Daniel curses and pulls them away, but out of surprise, as opposed to disgust. Armand knows that Daniel rather enjoys it when he licks him.
“Our original anniversary, yes,” Armand confirms. “Although, we have many.”

Of course, he doesn’t expect to stumble across the perpetrator when he just wants to get a fix. He also (quite reasonably) doesn't expect the killer to be a vampire.
Fifty years and an entire career later, he’s invited to Dubai. It’s a bad idea. Provoking Louis is a bad idea. Flirting with Armand is a bad idea.
No one has ever accused him of being risk averse.

Summary
Armand could’t keep the smile off his face as he shrugged innocently and reached out to take Daniel’s hand as the doors opened to the large warehouse-ish space. They owned a few cars, stuff to get them around to satisfy Armand’s need for the latest and greatest that their tech bro neighbors had to offer, but with their speed and general lack of patience for traffic there was really no need for anything else.
Especially not for the cherry red powerhouse that sat in front of Daniel.

Once again, Daniel provides Louis with an out. But this time, Daniel is the one who needs Louis to come to his aid. Or, at least, he seems to think he does. He makes a better vampire than most.

And fuck, that was an insane thing to think about.
He’d almost married Madison.
The thought made Hartley’s head spin and he leaned back in the seat of the car, closing his eyes as he muttered, “God, I thought the new intern almost setting my office on fire was the worst I’d have to deal with this week. This week has been a shitshow.”
