I love the way this author writes Sylus/MC. Hers are the most canonically faithful depictions that I've come across.
This fic, in particular, captures all the key elements of Beyond Cloudfall (their power play, Sylus' darkness, MC's ambition) and transposes it to a modern AU setting. Sophisticated psychological drama that's fraught with tension. 300/10 would recommend.

Summary
There are a lot of stories about the seventh daughter of a seventh daughter. Lucy's great-grandmother knows only wickedness can come from such a creature. We all know she is wrong.
Three chapters, three generation's of women. This is the story of Lucy's grandmother, her mother and Lucy herself. They each have one chapter. Her grandmother's and mother's chapters are angsty. A lot of the characters die beause we're talking decades here. Lucy's chapter, the third one, isn't nearly as angsty. Expect a generous sprinkle of Lucy/Lockwood family fluff as a sweet dessert to the bitter meal.
To be honest I can't imagine anyone being very interested in the first two chapters lol. I've just always loved stories that cover decades like this.

As we came up for air, he looked a tad too self-satisfied for my taste. ‘What,’ I said tetchily, ‘So, you’re going to snog me until I agree to stay?’
‘If that’s what it takes,’ he replied, and valiantly redoubled his efforts.
Towards the end of The Hollow Boy (aka, the second season that never was), right after Aickmere's, Lucy and Lockwood start an on-again, off-again physical relationship. It is, in Lucy's own words, a monumentally stupid idea, until it isn't.
Or, five times when having sex with Lockwood didn't really make Lucy feel any better, and one time she didn't really expect it to.

Draco squinted, trying to make some sense of his surroundings. All he could see was a blurry mass of indistinguishable colours and distended shapes, as though someone had taken a dirty sponge and wiped it across his reality. There was a strange ringing in his ears, high pitched and whining. And another sound, just beyond it, but it was muddy and distorted and he couldn’t focus on it enough to identify it. His thoughts felt like shredded cotton wool, torn apart and feather light. Every time Draco tried to focus his brain seemed to blow on the clouds of his thoughts until they no longer formed anything cohesive.

This one gave me a migraine (from binge-reading it at the expense of sleep) and an emotional hangover.
I adored Hermione's relationship with Theo and how it evolved and changed over the course of the story. Dramione might have been the endgame but I wouldn't have been devastated if she had ended up with Theo instead.
Also loved her friendship with Lavender.
