One Monday in December 2015, in some unnamed dog park in Kanata, Ottawa, Ilya Rozanov chanced upon Shane Hollander, the ex-hockey prodigy of the same vintage who disappeared from the sport altogether after their first and only game at the 2007 International Prospect Cup.
Across oceans and time zones, they managed to remain in each other's lives in one way or another.
Notes before you click: I have distracting plot bunnies going thumpety thump thump, but I don't have the time, so I am weaving most of them into one fic. Come along for the ride if you want. It's truly a 'for me' project, meaning: no regular updates, facio quod cupio and all that, and tags may change (but it will be HEA with no Hollanov deaths). Thanks for reading if you do!

In the meantime, his apprentice, Dalamar, is determined to not let his Shalafi fall to despair- for that would ruin his apprenticeship.

FIC ON HIATUS FOR A FEW MONTHS while I work to complete another fic, Chaos Ascendent. Latest chapter is Chapter 7 as of 25th Oct 2024.
Raistlin found himself returning from the dead to the time of the Third Dragon War joined by Sturm Brightblade, Tasslehoff Burrfoot and Destina Rosethorn. The Time Journeying Device which Destina used to send them all back to that time was broken, and to make matters worse, the Gray Gem she wears around her neck could change the history of Krynn altogether in the Dark Queen’s favour.
But that’s not the point of this rewrite of the novel Dragons of Fate. This will be my take on the story that danced tantalisingly in the published novel- the smouldering romance between Magius and Raistlin. Both mages were hurt by the Test, their known fates tragic. But for a brief, incandescent moment in time, will they find understanding and companionship? Amidst the backdrop of war, there is longing and desire.

Sturm's sacrifice. Raistlin's lament.
Originally meant to be the final two chapters of Wreath of Roses, I have separated it out so I can keep to the spirit of the reverse bang. It does not need to be read to complete Part 1 as Part 1 is meant to be complete in itself.
For those who have not read Wreath of Roses, it is a coming of age story for Sturm Brightblade told through the lens of his and Raistlin's young, idealistic love.A heavier angsty chapter that was originally meant to end Part 1 has been now pushed back to the sequel (also not necessary reading but gives an insight into Raistlin's frame of mind).
This sets the mood for the sequel to Wreath of Roses. As usual I feed on kudos and feast on comments, thank you for leaving them if you like this!
