“See ya,” he says, soft and quick, like it means more than he wants it to.
Then he disappears through the doorway, the light from inside swallowing him up, and you’re left standing under the quiet sky with only the river, the snow, and the faint trace of smoke where he used to be.

Semi-Grade 1 Jujutsu Sorcerer Ōshiro Kenta is tasked with recruiting potential sorcerer Godai Yukiko.
Per request of the Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College principal, he is to escort Yukiko on a specially made internship until her graduation. Psychological evaluation revealed she is mentally volatile and displays signs of abandonment issues, such as increased stress. These symptoms, however, are also what help regulate her cursed energy and can help with developing a technique, should she buddy herself up with a person she is comfortable around.
She is speculated to be Special Grade, so the request holds a secondary goal: to prevent her dereliction to the status of Curse User.

Life is pretty routine, every 50 years the ship wakes you up to perform routine maintenance and check the plant systems. You read a book or two, you eat some gross space food, then you sleep until your next checkpoint. All straightforward, all as planned.
What's not in the plan is oversleeping by about 180 years and waking up in the arms of some blonde haired, dusty looking gunslinger. What's also not in the plan is starting new life on some crappy desert planet with sand constantly in your shoes. Falling in love with the aforementioned gunslinger could be negotiated as part of the plan, but it is DEFINITELY not the priority... right?

Yet, the Kwamis still remember the time where they reigned giants, needed and used. They remember when the pact was formed, who the first holders were, and most important, their dear Guardian. Her absence has been tasteless, a millennia in mourning yet they cannot forget the one who united humanity and kwamii. They had seldom acknowledge they would never see a reincarnation of her, not for a long time.
Until she did, and the world seemed to flip once more.
