Summary
Most days, Betty Cooper rose before the sun, dressing herself for farm work and getting breakfast ready for her two farm hands, Farmer John and Kevin. ...
This farm life was a dream come true. She reminded herself often that this was what she always wanted, and it was the truth. Only thing was that she never thought she’d be alone doing it. She had always thought she’s have someone by her side.
...
He had not expected Betty Cooper to look the way she did. When he booked this Bed & Breakfast as his writing getaway, he had been told that it was a quiet, out of the way place, with an accommodating owner/hostess who cooked divine spreads, offered great conversation, and made her guests feel right at home.
He had been expecting a more matronly figure, gray haired perhaps, stately, maybe, the way those baby boomer, Hampton-living, ladies carried themselves. She had, after all, been described by his editor as a cross between Martha Stewart, Ina Garten, and Ree Drummond of Pioneer Woman fame. None of those ladies were leggy, in their twenties, smelled like sweet lilacs, and was gorgeous as hell. And none of them had that long blonde hair...

Summary
On a night when everything goes wrong, meeting him is at the top of her list. If she had it her way, she’d have as little to do with him as possible. (Un)luckily for her, she rarely gets her way.
Or—the magical, transformative power of a very ugly sweater.

Summary
"Despite the gritty, gravelly exterior he presents to the world, Jughead is the epitome of sweet toward her. He’s tender and considerate and just the right amount of reticent to be endearing. And though she loves that about him, Betty’s not in the mood for slow and sweet." [bughead, nsfw]

Summary
She’d seen him last when they’d still been happy. She’d heard from him last, ten years ago, when they weren’t anymore. She didn’t hold it against him – the break in the chain of first love was inevitable. That’s just how the story goes.
So she’d thought.
Or, in the dead of night, she gets a call that her best friend is teetering on the edge of death. Maybe she should’ve expected it, maybe she should’ve been prepared for it – but she hadn’t been the only one to get that call.

Summary
But Betty’s mark is small, black and white on her wrist, just over the thin skin where her pulse thrums. It looks like an old, circular typewriter key, and the letter in the middle is a lowercase ‘j’. She isn’t actually sure how she feels about soulmates, but she’s pretty fond of the mark. She imagines it probably belongs to someone bookish, someone who will understand her.
Actually, she knows exactly who she thinks it belongs to, but it doesn’t matter.

It’s been years since Jughead wondered if Betty was too good for him, years since he felt insecure - she’s his, he’s hers, they’re it - but nonetheless, he wishes they could just make it official already.

Summary
It’s chilly out, but Betty rolls down her window and reaches her hand outside of the car, the wind rushing between her fingers. Her hair flies into her face but she doesn’t seem to mind.
Jughead wants to write her down, every bit of her, in this moment. She’s like something from Kerouac. She’s like something full of feeling.
Or: Jughead Jones attempts to right (and write) his life.

Summary
After that it’s all hands: hands in her hair, on her neck, pressing into the small of her back, pulling her closer. Betty kisses him with an open mouth, with tongue, with everything she’s got (and maybe it isn’t as much as it was before, but whatever it is that she has left, she wants him to have it; wants him to fill in the empty, aching spaces inside her, because maybe that was the way they were always meant to fit together, to make up for all of the things the other has lost.)
His fingers unfasten the clasp of her bra, and all she can think is yes.

Summary
Things in Riverdale are feeling – better. Brighter. Archie’s dad had finally returned home from the hospital, and so far the Serpents’ offer of protection to Jughead had remained just that, and not the thinly-veiled threat that Betty had feared. Even Cheryl Blossom had returned to school at the beginning of the week, albeit in a much more limited wardrobe, sans her signature red lipstick.
Riverdale is moving on. Betty is moving on – and she wants Jughead to come with her.

Summary
Jughead shrugs. “Let’s do it.”
Betty leans away from his side, turning to face him in shock. “Juggie!”
“A séance is a classic set piece,” he argues. “What if I want to write about one someday?”
“You’ll be writing about this one in your novel, because it’s how we’re going to solve Jason Blossom’s murder,” Veronica says confidently. “Now let’s make this place spirit-friendly.”
