The rhythm is a lot slower now; he used to remember how fast it would beat back when they were younger.
…It’s hard, sometimes. To accept the cruel truth. That Sonic is getting older, while he remains in this unchanging, youthful body. As if a hundred years haven’t passed since they first met.

A few seconds pass. Wait, he thinks. Even though he can’t see it, he can feel that his hair is turning shorter as Dazai continues to move the scissors... horizontally? No, the scissors are definitely diagonal now.
“Shitty Dazai! Did you actually—” his yelling is cut off when he feels the scissors behind him shake. Throwing a glance at the mirror, he notices how Dazai’s eyes have dimmed. “Dazai—?”
He’s suddenly so, so grateful for his inhuman reflexes, because not even a second later, Dazai swings the scissors with the intention to stab his own arm.
Dazai and Chuuya cut each other's hair. Dazai accidentally messes up with Chuuya's and doesn't react well to it.

Dazai’s expression falters, not that Chuuya can see it.
“If Chuuya wanted someone to do chores, maybe he shouldn’t have invited me to stay at his house in the first place,” Dazai says. He said it with the instinctive desire to joke, and while his smile steadily remains, it now feels empty over his lips.
It's not that Dazai doesn't want to do house chores, it's mostly because he doesn't know how. He would rather let Chuuya think that he's being lazy than stupid though.

Venti stiffens. Then, he lets out a nervous laugh. “I’m kinda freaking out a little, but... go on.”
He can see Childe clenching his fists at his sides, before he looks up to meet his gaze once again. For some reason, the look he gives is apologetic. “I’m... quitting.”
Childe is resigning, and that means Venti needs to find a new personal bodyguard. Luckily for him, he's immediately getting a new one, and it's a bonus that he's Childe's old friend too. Now, the issue is; why does his new bodyguard look scary? And wait, what do you mean he's not even married? Oh, hopefully this isn't going to be a problem.

Venti has never intended to take the form of his friend. Though, maybe he likes being in a mortal body when he realises that there are some things he can do that his wisp body can't.
