Summary
Space fantasy AU where inter-system travel is prohibitively expensive, ships are hard to make and come by, the infrastructure for communication outside of orbit is imprecise at best, and there’s a dying star threatening the livelihood of Sunshot refugees living on a derelict moon.
The best engineers are proficient in the use of magic as well. Wei Ying, who cobbled together a decent enough craft to get the refugees off-world and halfway across this system to the moon before the craft failed, is well-trained, borderline genius in both mechanical engineering and spellcraft.

The ocean was enormous. It felt bigger than anything Wei Wuxian had encountered before. Their first day in the tiny fishing village Lan Wangji wanted to revisit, Wei Wuxian walked right up to where the waves lapped against the rocky beach and stood as the spray splashed the front of his robes.
One particularly large wave broke against a nearby rock and splattered his face. He licked the salt off his lips, laughing, and turned to Lan Wangji.
Lan Wangji stood a safe distance from the surf. He had one hand clutched tight around Bichen and the other resting on his hip. From this distance, he looked impassive, but Wei Wuxian knew that Lan Wangji's eyes would be soft, watching him delight in this new experience.
In his first life, Wei Wuxian had been the second-strongest swimmer in Yunmeng Jiang; he took to water as easily as he took to cultivating the sword. Now, in Mo Xuanyu's body, he struggled with both.
He was determined to re-master his old skills. And what better time to do it than on his extended honeymoon with Lan Wangji?

In the Cloud Recesses, he can't let himself play—let alone be fucked—on the main floor without considering a hundred little details. Who's there, who’s touching him, what are they using, how exposed is he, is he holding himself right? Is he following house rules and the dominant's personal standards? There's more than one reason he'd tried to train as a dominant before switching tracks to train as a submissive.
He still has to worry about some of his training and position while he's at the Unclean Realm—no matter where he is, he's still Lan—but not so much that it makes sinking into subspace almost impossible.

There’s a tone to his voice that takes Xie Lian’s breath away, full of reverence, but when Hua Cheng chances to look up at Xie Lian’s face from where he’s prostrating before him, there is a wicked curve to the shape of his mouth, a glint in his eye.
At Qiandeng Temple, Xie Lian experiences more than one kind of worship.
