He knew most people didn’t hurt themselves for attention, but after years of going unnoticed, what was the big deal if he wanted a little attention?
He didn’t mind the stares and whispers, because for the first time in his life people were seeing him. And God, it felt good. People were seeing him, saying his name, and it wasn’t because of sexual appeal. People were saying his name and it wasn’t just because “That boy does anything you ask him to in bed.”

Summary
There wasn't nearly enough mourning/suffering after Charlie's death for my sadistic taste. Especially after the things Dean said to Sam. People don't just shrug this stuff off. Sam literally makes himself sick with grief, Dean regrets his actions, and they make up in the end. It's painful though.

Ghost’s head feels dangerously light as he readies his blade again. He wipes a section of his arm with tissue, going from a sticky red to a stained pink.
The result is fast, deep and long. He sees stars and lets out a whine that’s so pathetic he’s almost embarrassed about it.
Except the stars in his vision don’t cease, and his breathing continues in quick, strained huffs. He’s on the verge of blacking out when he notices a voice behind the bathroom door.
