A variable in the equation would save Tony from his monster, the same monster that spanked and abused him since he was a 6-years-old kid. The same monster that has raped him on New Year's Eve when he was barely 12. The same monster that has the face of his godfather, Obadiah Stane.

Summary
Something was not right with Tony, and his MIT roommate Rhodey noticed: after they came back from winter holidays, the 12 y.o. Stark was acting very weirdly. Rhodey knew that Tony has spent New Year's Eve by his 'uncle', Obadiah Stane, but now something was terribly wrong with his friend! Tony was dull and... he was not talking! Not a word!
The right question asked at the right time made the lies around Tony's life to fall down, and the castle of glass surrounding the Stark heir broke in hundreds pieces. Called by his former associate Hank Pym, Howard Stark rushed to MIT with his wife Maria to discover an unbereable truth. And to protect his child, they both had no other choicebut to send him away. But not alone: Jarvis will always remain by Tony's side! Even if that meant re-inventing their lives as Elmonzo and Costanzo Zante, father and son in a small village in the South of Italy.This story is autonomous but it's inspired by the series "A game of chess", and in particular "The golden boy - part 2".

Summary
Howard and Maria Stark were travelling in Eastern Europe for business despite she was already 7-months pregnant. During a journey by train in Bulgaria, a food poison killed both her and the unborn child she was carring.
Devastated by his loss, Howard Stark came back to the USA and he started a slow decline.
Five years later, though, while he was cleaning the master room, Edwin Jarvis found a note from an orphanage in Bulgaria. Without thinking twice, Jarvis grabbed his wife Ana and they both went to Bulgaria to adopt a young kid named Tony.
They didn’t have doubt he was Maria's son: his big brown eyes were his mother’s eyes.
And that was maybe the reason Howard has left him there. -

Summary
When he was 10, Tony begged Jarvis to stay because he was scared of his uncle. Despite Mr. Stark calling him “paranoiac”, Jarvis decided to come back home unexpectedly… only to discover the physical abuses Stane was perpetrating against the young boy. Almost losing his mind, Jarvis fought against Stane and the vice-CEO of Stark Industries ended up in a blood staining the wooden floor! Maria Stark arrived home from the hospital, and helped him preparing a big show-up to hide his traces; she called the police and assumed full responsibility. When Howard came back they got the proportion of the disaster: Stane was at the head of a terroristic association the Starks were trying to dismantle, and with his death it was a matter of hours before they had the cops at their door.
They were going to lose everything! But Jarvis would never let Tony down, and, somehow, that will be enough for both of them! -

The bigger the light, the bigger the shadow. And together with her and past and new friends, they will act against the monster waiting in Tony's shadow: his godfather, Obadiah Stane.

One morning, Jarvis's world was shaken to the ground by a tragic news: his 12 y.o. almost son Tony has been kidnapped from MIT, raped and left to die alone. Everyone pointed the finger against Tony's roommate James "Rhodey" Rhodes. But while he cradled his boy to his final sleep, Jarvis knew that it couldn't be true, and he swore to put a bullet in the chest of the real responsible.
