Summary
With Marty re-writting the timeline so many times—up to the point where he couldn’t keep track of what iteration of it he was in—it would certainly be a strain on the delicate fabric of their reality. And after so many trips in the DeLorean, especially made in such close proximity to each other, Doc hypothesized there was now a small Marty McFly-shaped hole in the space-time continuum.
It was inevitable that something—or someone—would eventually fall through it.
