Objectively, this used to be true. Nowadays Shane has many, many plans, between his nightly plans to look at Ilya’s penis through Skype and his various long-term plans laid out helpfully in his notebook, Canva (For Ilya’s sake. He is a visual learner), and more recently, Excel. Shane loves that excel sheet. He’s colour coded it.
In 2017, Shane Hollander spirals and proposes to his boyfriend of 4 days (or 7 years, or 9 years, or not his boyfriend at all, depending on how you look at it), which leads to a lot of plans, weird theories in the Montreal Voyageur locker room, some Twitter drama, and Ilya Rozanov entering his WAG era.

It should annoy Shane, like everything else about Rozanov annoys him, but as he slips his tongue inside Shane's mouth, his blood boils with the exact opposite of should.

Sylvia leaned toward Shane. “Ask for his number,” she whispered loudly enough that it wasn’t a whisper at all. “They’ll be taking me away in T-minus five minutes. You don’t wanna miss your shot kiddo!”
Or Shane is a Librarian and Ilya is a Paramedic. They meet , fall in love, have a baby together . Oh and Shane is Autistic and worries a lot.

He waits, sitting on his living room couch, phone pressed painfully against his ear, his other hand gripping his knees till his knuckles blanched. He could feel his own heart rattling behind his ribs, pulse rockingloudly. His mind was an echo of alarm, demanding of him: Why isn't Shane saying anything?
It was the loudest silence he’s ever lived through, until Shane finally said, “Okay.”

But it’s still enough to make Ilya want to abandon all of this and drag Shane back upstairs. “Behave, Ilya,” he says, slipping back into Russian. “You know they can't know.” He turns. The look he throws him is a little too close not to affect him. “We both want it that way.”
