“Go on, then,” she enticed, voice low and velvety as her fingers wrapped around the blade, drawing it tighter against her throat. “What are you waiting for? This is your big moment, isn’t it?” She watched, mesmerized as the blade split her skin, merlot rivulets of blood trailing down her neck.
“How are you not scared?” she managed to grit out, body thrumming with that vague, urgent need that she was dying to give into. Still, for whatever reason, she couldn’t move.
“Why would I be scared of you, hm? You can’t even look at me,” she hummed, shoulders shifting against the wall. She could practically feel her gaze tearing into her as she waited, hands still resting on the blade of the knife, a silent dare. “Come on, Victoria, there’s no reason to be bashful now!”. . .
Or: I've made a semi-convoluted AU where Vox and Alastor are women (but more importantly, active serial killers) in the 1950s.

Summary
Vincent Whittman was a charming young man in his 20’s. He was smart, confident, hard-working, came from an upper middle class family and most importantly handsome. He was practically lined up for success. But his life takes a turn one day, when he fails to get hired as the weatherman on a popular tv network.
In desperate need of a job, he applies for a temporary position at a local radio station. He never would have thought that he would meet his idol, Alastor, there. The Radio star grows smitten with Vincent rather quickly. What was supposed to be a temporary job turns rather permanent as Alastor seems determined to never let him leave.

Summary
Vox is a bartender who spends his afterlife serving other people; remembering their orders, bringing them their drinks and cleaning up their mess. All with a strained smile, wishing he was elsewhere.
Vox thought he hated losing control, spending his afterlife behind the bar and not in front of it is a great challenge. However he soon realises handing over his agency to someone else can be rewarding… Alastor teaches him how to relish in the lack of power.
In other words, Alastor is a rich and powerful Overlord who takes the exhausted bartender on into a world of power dynamics - providing him with structure, demands and a sense of relief.
Vox is keen, almost too keen.

Vox continued.
“If you’re done playing house at the hotel with a broken staff and unpredictable powers, I suggest you hear my proposal.”
Alastor raised an eyebrow.
“That’s rich. If this is another one of your stupid partnership ideas, it’s a hard pass for me. I don’t feel like failing.”
Vox gave him a wide smirk...
“Marry me.”
____After a humiliating defeat leaves Vox stripped of his body and influence, and Alastor stuck plotting his way back to power, the two bitter rivals stumble upon a ridiculous solution: a political marriage.
Unfortunately, the longer they play the part… the harder it becomes to tell where the game ends.*This story takes place after the events of Season 2. In this universe, Rosie did not fix Alastor’s staff.

Summary
Having made no deals to secure his power, Alastor has spent his afterlife in Hell a fairly average Sinner with one particular unique ability: a voice that makes him all but irresistible to most demons. For decades, he’s used his silver tongue and natural charisma to help Rosie negotiate her contracts. Being bound to her service isn’t ideal, but at least it keeps him comfortable.
Of course, his talent is no match for someone like Vox. But their first meeting makes an impression nevertheless. Vox finds himself fixated on Alastor and compelled to possess him. So he does what any businessman would and makes a deal to buy Alastor’s soul.
A deal with Rosie, that is. After all, Alastor’s soul is no longer his own property.
Blindsided and bitter over the forced upheaval of his afterlife, Alastor plans to rebel in every way possible. But his brattiness does nothing to deter Vox, who’s determined to find the obedient pet hidden underneath.
