After her brothers had both moved out, she had hoped that things would finally settle down, but instead it seemed as though the relationship between Jiang Cheng and Wei Ying deteriorated more and more with each passing year. Finally, she overheard an argument between the two of them and reached her breaking point. There were certain things that shouldn't be brushed aside as another silly misunderstanding after all.

It had taken months, months, of exhausting work trying to refine the talismans that would keep the prosthetic on and allow it to move. Months of figuring out ways to link his meridians and nerves to the wood, ways to adapt the techniques for non-cultivators, ways to produce other prosthetics that weren’t as labor-intensive as what he and Wen Qing went through.-
