Summary
Dreams don’t happen in the TVA. Or maybe they do for other people. They do have that nightmare department a few wings away. Dreams have never happened for Mobius, though. It’s a concept he likes to think about sometimes, the idea of closing his eyes and seeing something else behind them while the mind turns off for a few hours to reset. Loki never talked about his dreams, but used to talk about the concept of dreaming to Mobius, describing how it feels in detail. Mobius likes details, he’s always been detail-oriented, so he likes to hear about how it feels like quicksand when you run in a dream and how your brain invents its own set of rules for reality each time you close your eyes. It’s a fun concept.
Whenever Mobius leaves the TVA, takes a trip down to his timeline and avoids the street he lives on, he stays in a run-down hotel, just so that he could say that he did.
He dreams that night.
He wishes he didn’t.

Summary
When Mobius descends the tiny back staircase to open M. M. Mobius & Co. Rare Books at a completely random hour on Tuesday afternoon, he finds someone already inside his shop, curled up in a chair and drinking a pot of his tea. The man is dressed in an all-black suit with a black shirt and tie, like a fancier version of one of those goth kids that sometimes show up in his shop looking for books on the occult or other such things that Mobius refuses to sell them. The visitor’s long legs are tucked up underneath him, and slender, elegant hands carefully cradle one of Mobius’s rarer tomes, a volume of Old Norse poetry.
A few weeks ago, this would have been cause for concern, to put it mildly. But then again, a few weeks ago, his bookshop hadn’t yet acquired its very own god of mischief.
(Or, the unlikely friendship between an ordinary human bookshop owner and a Norse trickster god, and how it grows to become something that neither of them ever thought they'd have.)

However, he gets a bit caught up in royal politics while Thorïn is out of sorts and finds out he’s rather good at being diplomatic and plannings. Cue Bilbo in an accidental seat of power and shenanigans from the dwarves and hobbits with lots of love.

I very nearly jumped out of my skin - how could that man have made it down the cliff this quickly, I was going to have to fight for my life again, was I going to die at the side of this cursed waterfall after all - but then the figure stretched out shaking hands towards me, grasping my arms, my shoulders, my face.
“Holmes! You are alive! How are you alive?”
“Watson.”
An alternative ending to The final problem, in which Watson returns to the waterfall, quite literally bumps into a still alive Holmes, joins him on his desperate flight, and never leaves him again. An asexual love story.
