Summary
It starts with Lan Wangji holding a whip in the snow.
Of a determination Lan Qiren sees on his face. An expression he knows all too well. Lan Qiren’s threat won't stop him. It’s barely made him pause. The boy doesn't sit in repentance, but in relief. There is a confident, defiant warmth in his eyes which seems to melt the snow around him and set the whip ablaze upon his palms.
His nephew would disobey him. Of this, Qiren is sure.
He would find a way to return to that demon which ensnared him; and perhaps next time he goes, he would not get him back. Either that demon kills him, or ensnares him into his wicked ways.
Lan Qiren would not stand for it. Something had to be done...before it was too late. Too late to save Wangji... Too late to save his clan from the slow encroach of evil which that demon has wrought upon their world.
He would not stand by again and let another Wen sect rise up and claim the lives of the ones he loved. He would not repeat his mistake again.
This time, it will be he who acts first.
OR
Lan Qiren goes to Yiling with a group of disciples to kill or apprehend the Yiling Patriarch.

Summary
Letting himself get cursed may not have been the smartest thing Wei Wuxian has ever done, but he'd argue that it’s completely in character. So he should earn some points for consistency, at the very least. Besides, when the spirit had been explaining it, the curse hadn't sounded too bad. Maybe a little bothersome if he underestimated how many people felt strongly about him, but surely, surely, it wouldn't be enough to hamper him in the long run.
Let it be known that Wei Wuxian is an idiot.
Because, when he emerges from the dilapidated husk of the temple, he can't see anyone
Or: Wei Wuxian gets cursed so he can’t see or feel anyone who feels strongly about him and assume this means that the people he cares about actually hate him.

A small whimper and hustling in the nearby bushes stopped his steps.
Lan Wangji peers closely at the bushes, his eyes narrowing in alertness as he pushes down the small trees in the area. Much to his surprise, instead of rodents, birds, or wild rabbits like he had expected, it was a medium-sized fox whimpering in pain. The fox looked so pitiful, with almost every inch of its skin covered in deep wounds, painting the nearby areas and leaves red. Lan Wangji can see the blood trail before the fox collapsed in the bushes.

This was ch.7 of the original DanTian and is now part of my 'Fight!' series because it seems to fit better here:
Wei Ying gets into a brawl; Wangji dispenses instant justice (and prevents WWX from getting beaten to a pulp), but in an enabling manner, as in enabling Wei Ying. It's a little action flick - there's a few scenes in the series where WWX is fighting, and some where he and LWJ are fighting together in perfect harmony. I'm riffing on this a bit. Plus, a lesson for Wei Ying from his love.
