At least until foster kid Techno came along... and until Philza started favoring Tommy and Techno over Wilbur. But maybe Wilbur was just misunderstood. Having to deal with anger and rage all alone until he was 18. Maybe it wasn't his fault that he took it out on Tommy, who had been dealing with his own battles at the age of 15. Maybe it wasn't Wilbur's fault that Tommy died. Maybe...
When Tommy died, Wilbur was kicked out of the house. Philza wanted absolutely nothing to do with someone who drove his son over the edge. But wasn't Wilbur his son too?
Ever since Tommy's body was found dead in a river, he has had nightmares since. He knows that he'll never be free from the guilt, and he'll never get to have his younger brother back. Nor will he ever have a normal family. Or someone to call, "family."
It's not until when he's cleaning the remains of his 21st party when he finds a box of some of Tommy's old things... There was something weird about the photographs... something different.
Because later that night, he's sent back in time to the night before Tommy killed himself.

Tommy sat still. He reached into his jacket pocket, his hand finding only a plastic pen. Could he stab this man with a plastic pen?
Tommy pulled said piece of plastic out, visibly holding it up. “I have a pen.” Something about the bemused look on the man's face made Tommy click it, and again, repeatedly.

"The Sea is a Good Place to Think of the Future," tells the story of a singer's relationship with mental health and who often thinks about the futility of his life and others. He feels like he is drowning in his thoughts.
This thing hurts like hell, but what did he expect? Going into something self destructive will result in the obvious, self destruction. The constant pressure to appear perfect and absolutely fine, when inside he feels irreparably torn and damaged. He wants to scream how obvious it is. He takes pills to numb the pain but they only intensify it. He diets too much to control something, anything. The only place he can think of to be calm is the ocean. When he dies, maybe his ashes will be spread there and the sea would remain perfect forever, in perfect symmetry.
The sea is a good place to think of- to think about the future.

Wilbur and Quackity have casual sex from time to time. Its no big deal, having sex with an old political rival. Except Wilbur is trying to fix the family he destroyed when he died 13 years ago. Quackity is the only way to get to the revive book and learn just how Wilbur himself was revived. After Fundy killed himself and Sally left him Wilbur is left guilt-stricken and pleasure-seeking as he loses himself to what should be left as beyond and pleasureful rendvu's with the president of Las Navadas. However, Wilbur finds himself learning more and more about his rival and learning about just how bad living under Schlatt's rule was for Quackity, and begins to question if what Wilbur is trying to achieve even is worth it.
Or Wilbur and Quackity are kinky bastards, and they both have their own trauma to sort through.
