Easing into a walk down the stone guard, Vi zeroes in on all the places she’s landing. It’s not like she ever got a formal education on this, but she knows the basics. Lead with your legs. Arms forward. Use the balls of your feet for stability. Those tips have helped her improve her form and really have fun with this hobby.
When she soars over the garden, gets a solid landing to lead into her vault, the rush feels like she’s truly flying.

Summary
Caitlyn shuffles until the back of her knees hit the table’s edge, slightly parted, and Vi reels her urges in. The pull is almost irresistible. She aches to step forward – to move so close there’s nowhere else to go but each other’s arms, cradled heart to heart, and stay there for hours. She settles for sticking to the left side of Caitlyn’s legs, where she can see the reopened wound and the lump on her jaw. A remnant of… Jinx’s gun.

Summary
Caitlyn doesn’t really believe in signs, but this definitely puts a damper on her starting to – everything was just going so well before this. The cabin may be small with two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a joint kitchen/living room, but it’s cozy and well-kept. Check-in goes smoothly, nobody seems to recognize her, and her phone has been blissfully silent. That’s mostly because she turned it off and tossed it into the bedside drawer, but she digresses.
Caitlyn needs to get away and ends up at a small cabin resort on a lake. It’s just another summer working at her family’s resort for Vi. They get off to a rocky start, but a lot can change in three weeks. aka Summer vacation au.

The urge to give into her exhaustion was strong, but Vi knew she’d be scolded for sleeping in this position. She could hear it now: That’s horrible for your back, Vi. Let’s get you to the bed where you’ll be more comfortable.
Maybe that protective streak went both ways, even if it was just making sure that Vi lived in comfort as long as Caitlyn was around.

She couldn’t recall ordering anything recently, so the least she could do was try not to destroy what was most likely her neighbor’s mail. “We’re literally on the same island,” Korra says, exasperated, even though the argument is old by now and clearly useless. “I don’t understand why we can’t see each other until tomorrow.”
(Or: it's the day before Korra and Asami's wedding and they're not allowed to see each other. They agreed to it. It's only a few hours, they can make it, right?)
