“I’m under strict orders to not answer that question. However, I wasn’t told I couldn’t tell you she asked the same.”
“We’re literally on the same island,” Korra says, exasperated, even though the argument is old by now and clearly useless. “I don’t understand why we can’t see each other until tomorrow.”
(Or: it's the day before Korra and Asami's wedding and they're not allowed to see each other. They agreed to it. It's only a few hours, they can make it, right?)

“Well, she has a point,” Supergirl began, “I don’t really have a nemesis yet…”

Just because she was used to dealing with drunks on a nearly nightly basis didn’t mean they weren’t annoying as hell. She hardened her tone and raised her voice a little, “You’re going to have to speak up if you want to order anything.”
The drunk finally sat up, pushed their hood back, and looked at Catra, blue eyes bloodshot and tear stained. Catra recognized her instantly.

Gently, she guides Yang’s hand down so that there isn’t a gun in her face anymore. Yang doesn’t fight her. “How old are you?” Yang asks. Blake sighs, shakes her head, half-smiles.

Kara’s wearing a pair of dark blue jeans and a sweatshirt Lena vaguely remembers borrowing in what feels like another lifetime. Her hands are in her pockets and her head is dipped forward, but her eyes are looking up at Lena, and there’s an air of uncertainty to her that Lena hasn’t seen in nearly a year. It steals the breath from her lungs and the words from her mouth, and her lips part wordlessly as they watch each other across the threshold.
“Hi,” Kara says softly.
Her weight shifts to rest unevenly on one leg as she looks at Lena, and Lena remembers how easy it was to talk to her, once.
