Summary
Trinity enlarged the photo with her thumbs. Only Garcia’s cat’s black little face and yellow eyes were visible through the head opening and she looked deeply perturbed by Yolanda taking the picture. Some things never changed.
She rolled her eyes and laid back in her bed for a minute. She knew she needed to get up and keep getting ready for the day, but she couldn’t right now. Her heart had started to pound in that too familiar way. Only one question kept ringing in her head as she pressed the phone to her chest.
Why was her sweatshirt on Yolanda’s bed in the first place?

"Oh my fucking god." Trinity murmurs.
“What now? The soapy water is dirty? It will disturb my pH? A bacteria that’s not even native to here will suddenly reemerge out of nowhere?” She snaps, agitated, even though she knows what she's saying is technically true. “I don’t know what I expected.” She finishes, trying to get up from the bath, already teary eyed again. She almost loses her footing, nearly slipping before Yolanda’s hands steady her. Trinity pushes them away, the touch too sudden and too much.

Summary
Yolanda pecks her lips again, lingering for a second too long that has Trinity reminded of the uncomfortable wetness between her thighs.
“I’ll see you later, it starts at two thirty today.” Yolanda is already halfway out the bedroom as she finishes her sentence.
The door closes with a loud noise as Santos hears Garcia’s feet pad against the floor and down the hallway.
“Cool.” She says to an empty room, and sighs back against the pillows.

Three years ago, if someone had told her she'd marry the snarky intern from the ED she'd have laughed them out of the room. If they'd told her that same woman would one day be asleep in her arms with a rescued kitten draped across her collarbone after spending the evening fussing over it, she might have laughed even harder.
Now, listening to two different sets of quiet snores fill the room, Yolanda couldn't imagine a life that looked any different.

Trinity and Yolanda bring home a stray cat. She instantly loves Trinity but seems completely indifferent to (borderline dislikes) Yolanda. But it's okay, love is meant to bloom over time.

Trinity pulls herself to her feet, sitting down on the edge of the bed as she looks around the room. It's nice. Peaceful. But Trinity can't help but picture how much better the room would look with Yolanda's clothes hanging next to hers.
"I wish you were here," she says honestly. "I miss you."
"I miss you too," her girlfriend replies immediately. There it is again, Trinity thinks. A year ago she would have been shocked to hear these words out of Yolanda, even in bed. But now they seem so natural. "We aren't so far from each other."
"I know, I know," Trinity concedes. She could stand to learn a thing or two from Yolanda's rationality. Four nights away from each other isn't exactly a new thing in their relationship. "And it's only for three more days."
"No, I mean, if you wanted… I could come down tonight."

Which meant Trinity and Dennis had been away from the hospital for all of forty-five minutes before being rushed back in on stretchers.
“I told you, I’m fine,” she scowled as Dana guided the EMTs toward Central 6. “You’re not even supposed to be here!”
Or: Trinity and Dennis are just trying to make it home, a poorly timed bus accident sends them right back to the Pitt. Luckily they have people (and morphine) to help with their predicament.
