Her feet don’t quite touch the ground from this position, and her platform Mary Janes swing slightly over the linoleum. Kristen wonders, briefly, if they’ve ever crushed a rat.
“Is it stressful, being so perfect all the time?”
Something passes over Kipperlilly. Kristen can’t read it for the life of her. Her eyes gleam under the shitty fluorescent lighting.
“Do you think I’m perfect?” she asks delicately, like it’s a dare.//
