It almost looked like— Jason switched on thermal vision. The— the whatever that was curled up in the corner was only slightly higher in temperature than the concrete floor. Jason grimaced as he moved into the room.
Nothing still living could be that cold.
As he moved closer, Jason’s stomach dropped like a stone. There was a person locked in here. A small figure, curled in the corner of this pitch black room.
The person was small, barely wearing anything. He clenched his teeth and god— that was a kid.

Or, Jason follows a lead and finds something he wasn’t looking for.

Technoblade is a fighter. Not by choice, but no one seemed to care. Philza is a hybrid who has too big of a heart for his own good.
AKA Techno is a kid forced to fight in an underground ring and Phil can't stop adopting kids apparently.

Summary
Contrary to popular belief, Neil wasn’t stupid.
Tired, yes. Bleeding, slightly. But he wasn’t stupid.
He didn’t even let Hernandez pull him aside in Millport- the minute he heard someone was waiting for him he was gone. A flimsy excuse about grabbing something from his hallway locker (which he never even opened) and he hadn’t looked back.
Neil grabbed his duffel in front of him, leaving bloody handprints that wouldn’t be seen on the black fabric, as he zipped it closed.
As if this couldn’t get any worse, a third person stuck their head in the doorway, like some horrible clown car that wanted Neil dead.
“What is the deal? We have a deadline guys.”
They made eye contact, and Neil felt his soul leave his body.
“Is that- fucking Josten?”
(Or alternatively, Neil runs in Milport and has the worst possible luck one could imagine.)

There's a flash of gold and green. For one moment, he finds himself standing amongst the Guardians and others. And then darkness again. It feels like blinking; an extended period of nothingness that ends as abruptly as it begins. One moment there’s nothing, the next there’s light.
“Easy,” a woman says. Her words are gentle, and carry a slight accent that he can’t place. "I'm called Wonder Woman. What's your name?"

Part one spans from their first meeting to their first kiss;
Part two will take place a few years later, when certain circumstances force them to return to camp, and Andrew has to deal with what he left behind, on top of their current problem.While both fics should be able to be read individually, it does make more sense if you read them in order :)

The Avatar definitely should not be Neil Josten, who does not give a single damn about anything but surviving while on the run.
