Summary
It’s a very normal morning on a very normal Thursday when Steve Rogers pops into existence on Bucky’s patio.
With the kind of things Bucky has seen and the life he leads, this wouldn’t usually be cause for concern. Steve gets up to all kinds of shit with the Pym particles these days – something about time travel having inter-dimensional consequences. And since Steve exchanged Grant for Responsibility sometime between lying on army enlistment forms and crashing a plane into the Arctic, he’s running around under the careful watch of Hank Pym and Stephen Strange, doing things Bucky takes care not to ask about.
But the Steve Rogers that pops into existence on Bucky’s patio is not the right Steve Rogers.
He’s dressed all in black, for one thing.
He’s got a metal arm, for another.

Summary
Special Agent Bucky Barnes doesn't think of himself as a hero. He's dedicated to his career, and if that keeps him far away from home, all the better. His parents think that he should get a less dangerous job and meet a nice Brooklyn girl (or boy) to settle down with. In Brooklyn.
That sounds like Bucky's definition of a living hell. He's been running from it for years.
Enter Steve Rogers. Brooklyn boy. Not always nice. Hot as hell.
And a temptation Bucky can't resist, even after their initial failure of a meeting.
This is an AU of the Steve Rogers problem but stands alone - you don't have to read that part to understand this.

Summary
They took down a lab full of mutated animals today. It was normal enough at first, James with his metal arm and Steve with his shield, the two of them armed to the teeth with guns and knives. But then the creatures kept coming. Steve wrapped himself around a horse-sized something that might have been a wolf in another life and broke every one of its bones with a single, heaving squeeze of his limbs. James punched through the chest of a biped taller than him with his flesh arm and ripped its heart out for good measure.
There was no pretending after that.
James smiles at Steve, a small, heated thing.
“I want you to fuck me until I can’t walk."
“And if I say no?” Steve asks.
James shrugs, and the gesture is nonchalant, but Steve can see the tension underneath.
“Then I will be very disappointed, and I will leave and take my whiskey with me.” James tilts his head to the side, an animal-like motion that’s a strange cross between predatory and adorable. “But somehow, Captain, I don’t think you’ll say no.”

He looked back over his shoulder at the sleeping body in his bed, incapable of preventing himself from smiling as he took in his lover’s open mouth and soft snores.
Yes, he was sure of himself. Even if he hadn’t thought about it for more than a few hours at most, he wasn’t about to take back his decision.

Summary

Things tend to get complicated when you date Steve Rogers, living legend, Actual Hero; after spending some time in Hydra captivity, Bucky's faced with a long road to recovery. Steve had gone fully red-faced with pedantic altar-boy fury. “Did your computer forget how to Google translate?” he bellowed, sticking his head up and over. Bucky yanked him down again. “What are you even trying to say?”
Bucky tried to shake the sparkles off the grenade he had been planning on lobbing over the divider. “It sounded like Latin to me,” he said reasonably, pursing his lips and frowning at the explosive. It dripped a sparkle, and a puff of purple smoke curled up where it hit the concrete.
“That’s because you spent Sunday school flirting with Sarah Cunningham,” Steve accused, bobbing back up to throw his shield and ducking back down to dodge a shining ball of blue light. “You wouldn’t know Latin if it came up and kissed you on your ugly mug.”
“I’d sure know it if Sarah Cunningham did, though.” Bucky grinned, struck by the memory. “That gal really knew what she was doing.”

There was a sharpness there, a cleverness; a cunning. People saw Steve because he wanted them to see. They looked at him the way they did because he knew how to make them. Steve knew just how to walk into a room, how to look, how to sit, that got people wanting him, people like Bucky, people who'd be willing to buy his services. Steve had played him from minute one, and Bucky was strangely unashamed that he'd fallen for it hook, line, and sinker.
"My car?" Bucky breathed raggedly, his gaze flickering over Steve, hardly thinking, just knowing he wanted to shortest possible distance between them, and whatever horizontal surface he could possibly take Steve on.
