Summary
Simon hid behind layers and a mask.
Simon hid behind the layers and the mask because he was afraid. He was afraid of people looking through him, seeing parts of him he didn’t want. Ghost was deadly. Ghost was a force that could blend into the darkness, could slink in the background and execute orders efficiently. His eyes were cold, his voice levelled.
The mask helped Ghost with this persona. He helped Simon tuck away, hide from the horrors of a world that only wanted to scorn him. He had been burned too many times before, and over time, it became easier to be Ghost than it ever was to be Simon. He needn’t bother trying to differentiate, anymore.
The mask stayed on. The layers hugged him close. And Simon was laid to rest.or
Ghost and Soap are sent on a stake out mission, for an indiscernible amount of time. When holed up in a one bedroom apartment with one another, a lot of things are learned, and a lot of walls are broken down.

“More you than the nogitsune”
That was what Noshiko had said when he asked her whether he was still himself. It was a frustratingly vague answer.
Did that mean he was still not himself? Was there some part of the nogitsune that still possessed him- its claws wrenched deep into his soul, tearing at it and twisting him into something else? Something that wasn't himself?And that doubt, that worry that it wasn't over, that's what kept him awake.
Because as much as he kept telling himself that they had won, and that everything could go back to normal, Stiles felt different.
And it wasn't in a good way.
Something dark coiled inside him, churning his insides and whispering its way into his thoughts. When he looked in the mirror, he didn't look like himself. He knew that it was his reflection staring back at him with the same dark circles under his eyes and sickly pale skin, only something felt off. It felt wrong.
He could never figure out what it was.-
After the defeat of the nogitsune, Stiles is left scarred.
The nogitsune never truly left. A dark seed has been planted within him, one that is slowly growing, and starting to bloom. And as it grows, so does its hunger.

Stiles has a good life. He has a great job, a great husband, and he's happy in Virginia. The pack is doing fine under Scott's leadership back in California. Aside from the grisly murder scenes he sees on cases, Stiles' life is actually pretty perfect. Which is of course, when everything goes wrong.
Basically Stiles is part of the BAU team, and the Nogitsune returns. Mind games ensue. There are not nearly enough crossovers where Stiles is on the team, so idk here you go, brought to you by the voices in my head. Also in this fic Stiles and Derek didn't get together until Stiles was well into college, because I think canon-era Stiles/Derek is really creepy.
