It’s barely there, just a hint of Gilmore’s lips, but it still makes something swoop low in Vax’s stomach. He looks up into dark eyes, sparkling with the dim magical candlelight of the shop. Gilmore kisses him on the lips, warm and lingering. “I don’t know how much more persuasion you need, from the feel of you. Forgive the tired old line, but: is that a dagger in your pants, or are you happy to see me?”
“It’s, uh, both.” Vax offers Gilmore a sheepish grin when the man roars with laughter. “Damn it, give me a minute.”
