A clever ruse of course, backed up with convincing evidence and witnesses, and careful manipulation to cover their tracks as they moved to a foreign universe where no one knew who they were. They have things they want to protect, especially their precious cargo that survived along with them.

Summary
The repercussion of Starscream’s self-sacrifice at that time kept him in stasis for three stellar cycles, and Megatron could do nothing but wait. Motionless and seemingly without life, Starscream laid there in his berth with wires hooked up to him and machines that kept beeping and making graphs of his spark.
Megatron silently gazed at him, wishing he could see those mesmerizing blue optics again and his wonderful smile.
