The other members—leader Leo with his raised eyebrows and subtle interventions, Junseo’s teasing side-eyes, Anxin’s dramatic pouts, Geonwoo’s knowing smirks, Arno quietly filming the moments, and maknae Sanghyeon straight-up calling it out—can’t ignore it anymore.
Sangwon’s aegyo is legendary in the dorms, but Xinlong’s reaction? It’s on another level. Way more than anyone else’s attempts ever get.
As comeback preparations ramp up and the dorm buzzes with chaos, the group starts placing bets, staging “aegyo tests,” and outright confronting their whipped hyung. Xinlong denies it (badly). Sangwon just blushes and does more aegyo. “We’ll be there with you though!” says Anxin. “And if you really really hate it you can leave early, I promise. Please? It won’t be as fun without you.” His voice gets sad and pouty on that last line, and he hasn’t dropped the puppy-eyes. Sanghyeon, who’s been released from Anxin’s hold, isn’t even trying to hold back his laughter. They all know it’s just a matter of time before Xinlong caves.
He lasts about ten seconds.
“Fine, I’ll come.”
Anxin cheers, darting around the table to tackle him with a hug as well. “You’re the best Longlong! It’ll be fun, I promise. You won’t regret it.
He regrets it already.

Junseo’s face went red instantly. “Hyeonie—!”
“I’ll be taller,” sanghyeon continued confidently. “And I won’t get jealous all the time.”
Geonwoo sputtered. “I do NOT—”
“You do,” Junseo said without looking at him.
Betrayal. Again.Geonwoo crouched down to sanghyeon’s level, eyes narrowed. “Listen here, kid. That’s my boyfriend.”

It emboldens him. Part of him wonders if he should confess his feelings to Xinlong. Would Xinlong simply accept that, too? Love him back?
But there’s also the possibility that this is the one thing Xinlong can’t reciprocate. The one thing he will not just accept. Handing Xinlong his bleeding heart only to have him apologetically give it back is daunting.*
“Is hyung not going in?” The stranger’s voice is warm and velvety. It sounds like it could keep you safe.
Geonwoo looks away from the stranger’s face and lets his eyes drift over his clothes.
It takes a second. Then two. His eyes go back to the face, the slightly curled lips and defined nose. Big, round eyes. The all-black outfit. The slight accent in his voice.
