Roy sits down and pokes him right above the bandages.
“Jaybird.”
“Mhmm.” With how sleep-rusted his voice is, it almost sounds like the muffled purr of a kitten.
Another poke. No one ever said Roy didn’t like to play dirty.
Jason jerks a bit. The arm presses over his eyes persistently harder still.
Roy pries it off and Jason lets him.
He fixes him with a look, trying not to fixate on the way the sunlight pools in his irises. A languid blink, then another and Roy can’t help but stare.
“Don’t do that again,” he whispers, trying to press the words into his skin with his desperate tone alone.
