“Dude, we should, like, test him.” Gareth says while passing the shared joint over to Jeff. They were hanging out in Steve’s backyard, a small party going on around them. Maybe it's disrespectful to be gossiping about a man whose backyard you’re smoking in and whose beer you’re drinking, but Eddie considers every misdemeanor towards Steve pay back, nowadays.
“Test him?”
“Yeah, like, everyone here thinks he’s so great, y’know? Except for us, of course. We should test him, to see if they’re right. And if they’re not, we can tell everyone, so they stop hanging out with a douchebag.”
“And how are you gonna test him, Dingus? Gonna give him a pop quiz? Ask him to name three feminist writers, tell him to write 200 words on Martin Luther King?” Jeff scoffs as he’s pulling out the grass from underneath his fingers.
He's so focused on watching Jeff’s grass-stained fingers passing him the joint that he almost misses Gareth’s suggestion. “No man,” he pouts a bit. “Eddie should like, flirt with him.”
Eddie doesn’t even feel embarrassed by his sudden coughing fit from inhaling the smoke into the wrong pipe. “I should what?!” He asks, still a little raspy from the weed.

Patrick takes a step backward like his feet have been glued to the floor. Breathing gets somewhat easier when he’s out of direct orbit. “Go put some clothes on, Wentz," he gets out. "We’ve got a stakeout to get to.” Okay, good, blunt and straight to the point; all he can manage when he’s devoting three quarters of his brainpower to resisting the urge to jump Pete right now.
He turns and puts the wall in his direct eyeline for long enough to hear Pete mutter and stomp away, sounding enough like a tantrumming three year old for Patrick to wrestle his lungs under control.
Or, a cop au in which all Patrick's been hoping for is to be given lead on the drug case his precinct has started investigating. And he does get it. Only his Lieutenant sees fit to give him a partner he really does not fucking want.

It's Tuesday night. They should be watching Predator or Die Hard, sitting on their couch at opposite ends while Dennis pretends Mac's not staring at him out of the corners of his eyes, but they're not. Instead, Dennis is in the hospital chair next to Mac's bed, pretending to be his husband for reasons that he doesn't want to think about right now. He just wants Mac to wake up. Well, if he decides to wake up, that is. If Mac decides him and the gang are worth coming back to at all.
Dennis just wishes that things could go back to normal. Before Mac decided he loved Dennis and decided to shove it down his throat, before things got stiff and awkward and stuck between them. Then Mac wouldn't be in this goddamn hospital bed and none of this ever would have happened in the first place.
If only Dennis remembered to be careful what you wish for.
Set after season 14. No major character deaths.

It was his own damned fault for telling John to pick whatever he wanted; he’d had plenty of opportunity to lay down ground rules, it wasn’t John’s fault Arthur had run out of other Lesters quite some time ago with no plans to bolster numbers.
Not that he’d been much more enthused to gift his name to Bella. Why couldn’t he seem to stop comparing the scrap of the King in Yellow he’d stolen to his dead wife?

Summary
There’s absolutely no hope of Steve following along, or paying attention, or noticing anything at all except the gentle press of Eddie's hand in the center of his chest. He can’t explain why, but it feels like his hand is on fire; like that fire is searing into his skin and lighting him up from the inside out. It burns, but in a good way. That radiating warmth, that sting of heat, feels like proof that he’s still alive.
Steve realizes it’s the first time he’s felt something—actually felt something—since they escaped from the Upside Down.
