“Of course not,” he says soothingly. “He can bunk in with me, it’s not like we haven’t done it before. It's a twin room, anyway, there's already a spare bed.”
Sam guesses a bigger house is out of the question. Whatever; the three of them have spent eight hours crammed in a Mini, it can’t be that bad.

Sokka’s head snapped over to Zuko, who looked just as shocked as Sokka felt. His cheeks were cherry-red and he had a hand clapped over his mouth. “Did you just laugh?” Sokka asked. Just to make sure his ears still worked.
Zuko spluttered, his cheeks darkening. “What—no! Why would I ever—I mean, what is laughing?” And then, “Your jokes suck anyway!”
OR
Sokka accidentally makes Zuko laugh during one of their fights. He takes it upon himself to continue making Zuko laugh in their future encounters, just as a "distraction tactic."

Zuko was used to nightmares. He had them… regularly, to say the least. They weren’t as bad as they once were (thanks, therapy!), but he still couldn’t go a month without having a nightmare. They used to be about his atrocity of a childhood with his dad, or his mom, or Azula, or Jet, or just random, seemingly meaningless anxiety dreams. Recently, though, they’d taken to attacking a different one of his innermost insecurities.

A side effect of this new era of peace has been an upsurge of marriages and more public relationships.
It’s only natural that in this time of peace and love, the people want their Fire Lord to find love as well.
And thus, Operation: Get the Fire Lord a Boyfriend was born.
