Summary
He's frozen and can't help but stare wide eyed at the bin held in his older brother's hands. And when he meets his eyes, he knows he knows.
"Tommy… I… are you..?" Wilbur can't speak through his shock, not knowing the right words to say. It takes a lot to make him speechless but knowing his brother has a rare and deadly disease wrapping around his lungs, it causes him to panic.
Tommy meanwhile takes a step back. His lungs burn, they feel like fire encased it in an inferno. He feels the familiar trickle of a cough and can't stop it as he hackles.
He coughs and retches and he feels something light and fluffy crawl up his throat until it's spat out onto his palms.
White fluff flies from his mouth and falls to the floor. Little seed-like pieces with fluff attached to them mixing in his own blood stains his hands.
Aspen flowers.
The flower that represents fear.
He's scared, Tommy is scared.
Or
Tommy has Hanahaki and is home alone dealing with it until his very drunk brother comes home, looking for cuddles and love.

His family were villains.
But he didn't care. Because they were his family. Even if they didn't know he knew.

But then he met his co-star in a new royalty show and it all changed.
He had something. A friend. Maybe even a brother.
Yet, only a brother on screen. Only in the words recited from a script. It wasn't real when Wilbur called him his brother despite the cameras not rolling. It couldn't be.
But he still caved into the part of him that yearned it to be true.

There was nothing he could say to justify this right now though. Not when Wilbur had seen the blood. Not when his skin was still buzzing with anxiety. Not when things were still too fucking hazy for him to think straight.
“I just… I needed to check,” Tommy whispered, dropping his eyes to his lap.
“Check what?” Wilbur whispered back, wrapping Tommy’s (kind of) injured hand up in both of his own.
Tommy swallowed down the lump in his throat, figuring he might as well say it outright. “I needed to check if this was real or not.” A pause. “Dreaming. I needed to make sure I wasn’t still dreaming.”

Tommy led an unpredictable life, full of chaotic twists and turns. But through every surprise, through every hardship he faced, he realized that betrayal was always imminent. It's surprising that it had taken him so long to figure that out, but maybe he had always known, maybe he was just trying to cling on to the feeble hope that maybe, someone would come along and truly care for him. But Tommy was a fool for clinging to that hope. He should of realized as he watched Wilbur destroy L'manburg. He should have realized as his best friend exiled him from the country he had sacrificed so much for. He should have realized as Dream tormented him every day. But as he stared blankly at the feeble remains of Logstedshire, he did realize. He was furious at first, feeling a burning rage towards everyone that had turned their backs on him. Y'know, he had once heard a saying, "In seeking revenge, you are digging two graves—one being for yourself". But in deciding to put trust in others, Tommy had already dug his own grave. He had planned to do so for the others, but sitting here, he realized, he couldn't bring himself to. Well, he had already dug his own grave, might as well put it to use.

Tommyinnit leads one of the worst double lives in history. After his parents death Tommy was quick to take care of himself, and soon his close friend as well. He became a vigilante because he was never able to have the same opportunities considering his financial condition. So as a remedy he gets a grant based internship with a highly respected corporation. The very corporation that helps with any legal work that heroes face, meaning Tommy is surrounded by the people trying to catch him for the better part of most days. His biggest issue now is for them to never find out, and to do the occasional coffee run.

A scrapbook. Packed with reminders of Wilbur. It wouldn’t be hard as there were many things he could include. Like hot chocolate, the number two, bark on trees that didn’t grate at your fingers as you brushed down it, blueberry tastes, sunflowers and shoelaces tied like bunny ears. But how could he include all that in a scrapbook?
“Would he like that?” Tommy asked, quiet and hesitant.
Schlatt scoffed. “Kid, you could give him absolutely nothing but a single laugh and the bastard would thank you the most.”

“I mean… yeah, let’s go with that in case this ends up on the news,” Siren shrugged, looking back at Tommy. “I kidnapped you, right?”
“Yeah, sure,” Tommy agreed, knowing that if they said he was kidnapped, it would keep people from getting suspicious of why he was seen in public with Siren. “Anyway, can I get the chicken nuggets happy meal, with a coke?”
or, how Tommy—who is not a hero, or a villain, or even a vigilante—saves the life of one of L'Manberg's most feared supervillains, and accidentally ends up becoming the resident doctor for every supervillain in town (and maybe gets a family along the way too).
