Summary
After the meteor, Tifa and her friends settle down in Mideel, picking up the fragments of their messy lives. Everyone's left feeling directionless--especially Aerith. Aerith survived an attack she wasn't supposed to. Where does she even go from here?
Late one night, Aerith tells Tifa her troubles. Aerith is the last living Cetra. Following her brush with death, it scares Aerith to think of her species dying with her. Aerith thinks she might like to have children.
That's all well and good. But why is she asking Tifa to help her?

Summary
Simon gave Markus his heart during the revolution. Without a working thirium pump regulator, Simon should have died.
He didn't. And he can't explain why. Probably no one can.
Well--Simon has one idea how he managed to survive. It's so embarrassing, he can't bring himself to face his friends, let alone Markus. He's not sure what it means for him going forward, or why he gave Markus his heart in the first place.
Simon needs some downtime to sort things out. He decides to winter with an old human acquaintance. Unfortunately, he can't stay hidden from Markus--or his feelings--forever.

A promise is a promise. Tifa wins, and Aerith asks what she can give her. Tifa already knows what she wants. She just doesn't know if she has the courage to ask for it.

Summary
It's been five months since the cessation of a peaceful android revolution. Now recognized as people under US law, androids have access to the same legal rights humans do, including marriage, reproduction, and property ownership.
But androids aren't utilizing any of their hard-earned rights. Years of systemic abuse at the hands of humans have discouraged them from integrating with human society in any meaningful way.
President Warren makes a suggestion to Markus during one of their weekly video chats. Why not lead his people by example? If other androids see Markus enjoying the same rights as humans, won't they finally feel safe to emerge from the self-imposed fringe of society?
In other words: Markus has to get married. Markus, who has never had a single romantic thought toward anyone in his entire, brief life.
Now, which of his friends can he count on to bite the bullet with him?
