Summary
What if Restys never removed the cuff placed on Coco and Tartah at the end of Silver Eve?
After Qifrey, Olruggio, and the girls return home to their atelier, Coco seeks out Olruggio for help removing the cuff. He succeeds, but at a cost: the cuff transfers to him, branding him with a spell that makes it impossible for him to lie.
For Olruggio, that means the feelings he’s spent more than a decade harboring for his best friend may no longer be left unspoken. For Qifrey, it means the secrets that have kept him alive may finally be uncovered by the very person he’s tried his hardest to protect by keeping him in the dark.
When Olruggio begins to suspect that Coco and Qifrey have been hiding something ever since the festival, Qifrey doesn’t know how much longer he can keep the truth from him—and none of it will matter in the end if the Order discovers the forbidden magic on Olruggio first.

Summary
“Qifrey?” Olruggio steps closer, voice pitching up in concern. Qifrey can feel the weight of his gaze, ever-inspecting, angling his head to try to meet his eye. “You a’right? Did somethin’ happen?” Even exhausted, Olruggio doesn’t miss a trick.
Qifrey peers out from behind his hand to find those lovely eyes, as enchanting as ever, wide, searching, worried. And he knows exactly how this series of events will proceed, with clockwork precision, from a hundred other conversations that began just like this. Roles rehearsed, lines scripted.
A half-formed growl churns in the back of Qifrey’s throat. I will not do this to him tonight. Seething with frustration, and something else unnamed, he finds himself moving before Olruggio can delve further, and before whatever remains of Qifrey’s better judgement can intervene. He closes the small distance into Olruggio’s space, hands unyielding upon his shoulders to press him back, back, until he’s pinning him against the wall of the walkway.

Summary
Qifrey doesn’t have a way of measuring the time, can’t pinpoint exactly how many seconds or minutes pass between the moment of him waking up and the man resting his head against Qifrey’s shoulder doing the same.
All Qifrey knows is that he wakes first. If he says something, if he moves, Olruggio does too. But if he lies absolutely still, breath shallow as a held note, his friend stays asleep a little longer, impossibly near, warm and alive and infinite and perfect.
But the moment can’t last forever. Eventually, Olruggio always wakes.

Stuck in a dungeon with no way out, Qifrey gets to wake up with Olruggio resting against his shoulder — and gets to lose him, over and over, time and time again.

She is an exile, in more ways than one, and seeks the help of a witch and the shelter of his manor. But although he takes her in from the cold the witch has his own secrets and his own ghosts. And there is something in his manor that creeps in the night and Coco is half-sure it is even more dangerous than the past she is running from.
The ghosts of Qifrey's atelier are hungry.

Summary
Olruggio wrapped his arms around Qifrey’s waist and pulled him close. He rested his chin on Qifrey’s shoulder, warm and real and solid. Qifrey returned the gesture, his eye sliding shut. He let out a breath. They remained that way for a long while, leaning against each other. This could not ease Qifrey—he’d managed a delicate balance that allowed him to indulge in these small ways while retaining his ever-present fear—but Olruggio’s weight became heavier and heavier as he relaxed into it.
Qifrey could do these things for Olruggio; he could take care of him, though it would never make up for everything that he had done.

Summary
A near-grimace passed over Olruggio’s face, creasing his brow for a moment, then he closed his eyes. Released from the need for facade, Qifrey let his smile loosen, and gazed, and gazed.
What made sense to the man enduring such entitled, irreverent behaviour, beyond the obvious? What could Olruggio reasonably think, other than supposing he simply wasn’t wanted as anything more than a dalliance? A spot of fun?

Summary
From a small neat stack on top of the cabinet, Olruggio grabs a piece of paper, scrawls a casting seal on it, and places it inside. A wheel starts turning and the sound of music starts playing.
Jaunty notes fill the space, and the way Olruggio starts to sway to the tune makes Qifrey’s head spin.
Somehow he’s expected to endure this?
“Now then,” Olruggio says, wheeling around to face him. “Ready to begin?”
Reeling from a devestating failure, Qifrey now faces the greatest humiliation of all: a wedding in witch society. With help from his friends, Qifrey attempts to stave off social ruin, but life’s changes begin to unravel the only safety net he’s ever known. Fearing being left behind, Qifrey wrestles with his most prized and most reviled possession, Olruggio’s devotion.

We can make love as much as you want, as much as I want.” Olly managed a small smile through his tears. “Let’s just be gentle with ourselves, alright, Qifrey?”
Qifrey broke down, burying his face in Olly’s chest. His arms held Olly tightly, but his fingernails dug deep to near bleeding into his own palms to stop anything worse from happening right now.
“What the hell is wrong with you?”

Three months earlier, another cluster of commissions had kept Olruggio working late enough that Qifrey had become all too needy. Olruggio had told him, in a moment of exasperation, that if he was going to get like this every time work interfered with their sex life, he might as well make him something to keep him occupied.
Qifrey had taken him seriously. Worse, Olruggio had taken himself seriously.
Or: Olruggio comes home unexpectedly in the middle of the night after being away for some time and discovers exactly how much use Qifrey has gotten out of his rather inventive substitute.
