Tomioka was looking down at his hands. He was about to ask what was on his mind, when he suddenly took Kyojuro’s wrist and started tracing something on his palm with smooth strokes of his fingertips.
Kyojuro was so distracted by the feeling of Tomioka’s touch - which was cold, yet gentle - that he almost missed what he had traced on his skin. It was the kanji of a familiar name.
“Kochou-san?” He asked, and Tomioka nodded. “Yes, of course! I’m sure she’ll know exactly what to do!”
(When a blood demon art reopens an old wound, and Kyojuro is left profoundly deaf, Giyuu is there to take his hand and guide him through his recovery.)

Kirk's chair scraped against the polished metal floor as he stood abruptly, the sound harsh and jarring in the medical bay's controlled quiet. "I need some air," he said, his voice carefully controlled in a way that fooled absolutely no one present. The words came out too flat, too measured, the kind of tone someone used when they were barely holding themselves together.
He was halfway to the door, moving with the quick, purposeful stride of someone fleeing a disaster, when Spock's voice stopped him.
"Captain."
Kirk turned, and Spock was struck by the raw, desperate hope that flashed across his features — like a man dying of thirst who'd glimpsed what might be water on the horizon. For just a moment, his careful composure cracked entirely, and Spock could see the depths of his pain, his love, his desperate need for some sign that the man he'd bonded with still existed somewhere beneath the surface of amnesia.

Heat radiated off him in waves, but he didn’t even flinch. Showing not an ounce of weakness, fists still tight, every inch of him screaming, ‘don’t mess with me.’
Enjin narrowed his eyes. Was this kid serious? Any other omega would’ve gone belly up under the watchful eye of a dominant alpha. But no. Not this one. Special. Damn well annoying… and that thought drew a slow, sharp smile to Enjin’s lips.
