Never in all of Maxwell’s long years had he ever been so relieved to see one man. He stepped out of the treeline. A shout could not be held back: “Wilson!”
Wilson turned—bringing reality crashing down upon Maxwell. It was fear that flashed across his face. Instinctive, flinching, and genuine. The boogeyman had come out of the shadows with his long, shadow-stained hands and pointed teeth made for cutting smiles.
Then proper recognition set in, proving just how cruel fate’s humor was. Anger overtook Wilson’s features. Features that were familiar to Maxwell as his own, and features that he was forced to watch calcify with hatred.
The love of his life picked up his axe and wielded it with intent. “You’re dead!”

Everytime the survivors die out, a new iteration begins. Maxwell is the only one who remembers the last one.

The same crazed blue was visible in Dabi’s eyes. Even in the shadow of a collapsing wall, reflecting the light of a cigarette. He drew in short, lazy puffs, like he was sipping a cheap beer.
“You must be Dabi.” Hawks felt himself smile.

Summary
What does it mean to be irredeemable? Is anyone ever truly beyond redemption? And if so, how far does one have to go to be completely undeserving of forgiveness? And what's the deal with remorse? Does it mean anything if you wait until your deathbed to express it? Does it mean anything if someone has to die before you feel it?
Jack doesn't want to be a vengeful god. He wants to be the kind of god that gives people chances and lets them make their own choices. He wants his family to have everything they've ever deserved and never been given. And he wants people to have the full will to make their own choices. So, with all of that in mind, he brings back everyone he feels could be said to have died for Chuck's story- with Chuck's meddling removed... for example, John and Mary, without the cupid's arrows.
Without the all-consuming devotion to Mary that pushed him to be a hunter and without Chuck's influences pushing him to prioritize his revenge over everything, John is left wrongfooted and reeling, unsure of who he is or who his sons have become since he died. What he does know is this: he doesn't get to leave the work unfinished this time. If he truly wants to do better as a father, he'll have to do the work.

Dean just wanted to ask out the cute guy he saw in a donut shop. That was it. He didn't ask for the guy's siblings to descend out of the woodworks and start judging him. He just wanted a date.
Dean doesn't even know if this Castiel is worth the amount of effort he's putting into just being able to get him on that date. But he knows he wants to find out-- he just has to get through Castiel's brothers and sisters to do it.
