They sent back a body. I’m not sure what you are, but it’s really rude to waltz into someone’s home masquerading as their dead brother. So you’re going to sit right there until one of the alchemists comes over to find out what you really are. Don’t even try to run away. I’ll personally stop you.”
“Uh,” Diluc says. Is it bad that he’s fixating more on Kaeya calling him his brother than the whole being dead thing? “Can I ask you a question?”
During Weinlesefest, an irregular Ley Line outcrop in Dawn Winery’s vineyards sends Diluc on a involuntary vacation in a universe where he is dead, and Kaeya is Master of the Winery.

After the end of the Traveller's journey, there are still people left behind to pick up the pieces of themselves and slowly attempt to live a normal life. Instead of going out in a blazing glory, both Diluc and Ajax are left as red embers to fizzle out in relative peace together.
Over a decade on, Ajax is missing far too much to truly make himself whole and the cracks are becoming more and more obvious as time drags on, threatening to destroy everything the two had worked for over so long.

Kaeya wouldn’t say getting whacked across the head was one of his favorite past times, but he would concede to it not being all that bad. He’s definitely had worse. Worse as in; short-termed blindness, internal bleeding, and/or the loss of feeling in, hm, about every nerve ending.
But head injuries? Kaeya could practically laugh at the symptoms. What, a few headaches, some dizziness, maybe nausea or fatigue? Well, all that was about as bad as a particularly aggressive hangover.
Yes, Kaeya didn’t normally mind head injuries, except this one decided to leave him a special treat- one that left a bad taste in his mouth.
Kaeya wakes up 24 hours after getting banged upside the head with a magical polearm, and for some reason, has blood red hair, pale skin, and a pair of embers for eyes.
Bad taste, indeed.
