Wings are a symbol of ambition, of power, of respect.
They are not something that can be taken from the universe by force, they must be given. They are given to only the most capable, to the worthy.
And Techno just woke up with wings.
OR
AU where wings are a sign of being blessed by the gods or something along those lines. The royal family are the only ones to ever have wings, but the universe decides to have a bit of fun, and gives Techno some.
This causes some issues, considering the fact the royal family hears of Techno's new wings, and then deems him to be family. Even if Techno doesn't think the same.

Summary
Techno gave up on living years ago. He’s been alive yes, but nothing more than a man walking in the same flawed and simple cycle. And he’s content with that, for the most part.
But then a small family of three walks into the cafe one day, and maybe Techno does want a reason to want to really live his final year.
Or: Techno is destined to die at twenty-two, and with a year left he finds a reason to live again.

March 14Technoblade didn’t get a call today, because he wasn't dying today. That's a shame, he thought, if I was dying, I wouldn’t have to write this stupid essay.
Maybe he shouldn’t wish for death like that, it’s gotta be disrespectful to everyone who dreaded that infamous ringtone. He wasn’t looking to kill himself. He hadn’t when his Da–Phil, and their pet dog Steve both died, so why would he do it now?

March 15If he tried enough, he could get a bit of sleep tonight. He knew he had to sleep, for his physical health or whatever. He couldn’t, though. So he laid on his back on his couch, staring at the ceiling, arms crossed over his chest like he was in a coffin because he found that funny. He tried to find faces in the popcorn ceiling, and he was so focused that he almost didn't hear it.
Bum, bah bum, bah.
He knew that ringtone, everyone knew that ringtone. He laughed. He couldn’t stop until he was curled in a fetal position, tears streaming down his face. Laughter eventually made way for heaving gasps.
