Summary
Will smiled back, soft and sweet, like he always was. It was, all in all, the same smile Mike had grown up knowing as well as his own reflection. It was Will's teeth peeking through the slight pull of his chapped lips, and Will's skin wrinkling near his eyes. Mike would know Will's smile anywhere.
Only, that wasn't his smile.
Because that wasn't Will.
"Follow me?" Will asked, and one yellow ray of sunlight punctured the fog, illuminating the tufts of his mud-spattered hair like a halo. It was fitting. If the rest of the town thought Will was the devil, he'd always been an angel to Mike.
And for the life of him, Mike couldn’t remember what it was he’d been so worried about just a second ago.
"Yeah," he answered, treading behind Will and headed for the woods. "Always."
It's the summer of 1987, the town is under lockdown, the people are panicking and praying, and they've pinpointed Will as the one to blame for it all. In fact, nearly everyone seems a little afraid of Will these days, except for Mike.
(Or: Following a desperate ritual to cast the devil out of Hawkins, Will starts acting strangely. Mike starts having dreams.)

Summary
Mike grins so widely that he displays each one of his baby teeth. "Open it," he says. "It's a card. I made it for you."
When Will gingerly peels the birthday card open, Mike’s uneven handwriting is displayed across the page.
The p’s in happy are backwards, the y wobbly and curled at the end, and the k in Mike is also flipped the wrong way. The word birthday is etched in their kindergarten teacher’s steady print, and it seems like she'd also added the punctuation for him.
Happy birthday, Will!
Love,
Mike WOr: Will Byers' birthdays from age six to adulthood, told through cards from Mike.

u/MWpaladin commented on “Can’t tell the difference between sorcerers and…” posted by u/LionsandTigers7 on r/DnDu/MWpaladin: Are you an actual idiot? Sorcerers and wizards are hardly even comparable. It’s not ‘the same thing’ in the slightest. A sorcerer’s magic doesn’t even come from a book of spells, their powers are INNATE. Maybe go back to third fucking grade before you ever try and DM a campaign of your own. Jesus Christ. Another important differentiation to note is… [expand]

Summary
“Just saying, if you’re taking another hit, you should share it with me,” Mike says, and Will slowly tilts his head, drinking in every word. “It just makes sense. Like, mathematically.”
Will’s reddened eyes narrow, bewildered. “Mathematically?”
“If there’s two hits left, we’d each only get one,” Mike explains. “But if we shotgunned, we’d both get two.” God, this is the best idea he’s had in ages. He should’ve stolen Will’s weed, like, months ago. “That’s like, bang for your buck. This is simple math, Will Byers. Keep up.”
In which it’s well past midnight in New York, Will can’t sleep, and Mike feels like they barely know each other anymore.
So, they get a little high. Mike is very normal about all of it.

“Wait,” Lucas takes another glance at Will, specifically at the sweater he’s wearing. “Is that Mike’s?”
Here’s the other thing about the last eight or so months of Will Byers’ life: he’s been spending his nights, on and off, secretly, semi-occasionally, very frequently, kissing Mike Wheeler.
He’s confused about it too, don’t even worry.

“I have a more important question,” Will says. “Um, why did the cleric have to be in love with the paladin?”
Turns out, it actually was all just a longwinded campaign of Dungeons & Dragons. The party has some concerns about Mike.
