Summary
No one really knew how X's came to be. One day there weren't any, the next day half the population was wiped out.
All Karma knew was that they are technological monsters, fit to be the world's biggest weapon, after the splitting particle ray which could reduce any person into air particles in a millisecond. Karma realised how simple it would be to destroy an army even with one X. They were practically indestructible, perfect killing machines, only they'd turned on the government, apparently. Or maybe those bastards had escaped perfectly unharmed, watching how the country was being destroyed. Maybe it was an excuse for overpopulation.xx-xx
Karma has been trying to survive for over a year, but it's difficult when X's, mechanical killing machines, roam the streets, hungry for human flesh. Every day that passes by without finding a portal brings the morale lower. They need to escape the country before they all end up dead. It doesn't help that the X's have changed their tactics and are now manipulating people to commit suicide. The death rate keeps increasing, and Karma has to find out what family means, and to what extremes she would go to save the ones she loves.

It all started with a coffee and a much-needed break from driving. The coffee had been disgusting. It was the type of coffee you could only find at crappy BP stations you stumble across whilst you're riding at night and desperately in need to pee because it's been four hours since the last stop.

Summary
It was as if lava had poured down their bond. Both Tommy and Wilbur went down with a scream, desperately trying to cut their bond, but it was too late.
By the time the lava cooled, and all the hunters were taken down, there was no magic to be called upon. As if the lave had turned to bedrock right in their core. As if all of their magic was hidden away behind unbreakable stone.
“Tommy,” Wilbur had gritted, jaw tight and eyes hard with anger. “What did you do?”
Bad luck, the card had said. Bad luck.
Tommy hadn’t proved himself. Tommy had embarrassed himself, Tommy had ruined Wilbur’s magic.
And it was all Tommy's fault.

After a spell leaves Tommy and Wilbur without magic, Tommy takes it upon himself to fix it. But after his solution, Tommy is stuck unwillingly going to alternate realities--of the futures that Wilbur has changed.
When Tommy's memory begins to slip, and he never knows if he's in his reality or a different one, he fights against what's real, what's fake, and what he feels he has to do to make up for his mistake.

“Mail for you.” Lance’s mom gestured towards the table. She was pretending to be casual, Lance could tell. But she was watching him out of the corner of her eye, and it made him tense.
There was an envelope on the table. It was thick paper, and closed with a golden seal.
Lance picked it up and stared at it. He knew what it was. He had already decided that he wasn’t going. He couldn’t bring himself to. He could barely bring himself to open it.
He tossed it into the trash can.

Lance is a farmer. He really doesn't want to be, but what else is he even capable of? He got left behind.

"Don't do anything to him," Tommy manages, heartbeat throbbing and throbbing. "Please."
Wilbur frowns, but it's Techno who steps forward. "Tommy, he's not going to do anything," Techno tells him cautiously. "You don't need to worry, alright?"
To you, Tommy would say, if he was stronger. He's not going to do anything to you.
But he doesn't. Tommy keeps his mouth shut—whatever it takes to stay.
When Techno and Wilbur Soot-Watson anger a bully, it shouldn't be an issue. They are as untouchable as they can get, for students anyway.
It's unfortunate that Tommy, their foster brother, isn't. Being their soft spot, it only makes sense that he becomes the next target.

Summary
Tommy didn’t know if he was lucky or cursed. He survived the crash landing on this supposedly “safe” planet, but he’s too far away from the other survivors and their messages are coming through garbled. The only people close enough for him to get a clear message from ended in screams. At least he’s in the shallows.
This wasn’t the planned landing sight. All the other survivors were too far away and busy, y’know surviving, to help him. He was on his own. He would survive, he had his escape pod, base building tool, and a somewhat damaged PDA with information on this planet's wildlife.
Now if only the leviathans circling near where his shallows drop off into deeper ocean could stop singing like whales and fuck off that would be great.

And it’s… well, at first Techno thinks it's a human. He’s got rounded cheeks and a small button nose, mouth wide open and yelling. He’s waving his arms around angrily, tiny fingers clenched into a fist. But then Techno looks slightly up, and he can see the pointed, furry ears sticking out from his unruly blond hair. Techno shifts the boy to the side and he can see a tail.
“–me go, you bitch! Fuck you! Let me go!”
A little warrior, Techno thinks as the boy kicks and curses in his fist. Runt, his mind screams, looking at just how small the boy is in his hands.
