It actually begins with Marcie Danvers bursting into tears as she scrambles up onto her desk, shrieking something about how the walls and floor are crawling with spiders. Only, there are no spiders. And, even if there were, it doesn't explain Angela Sinclair desperately trying to open a window because ”the ship is going down!”
And then Jason’s phone lights up with a single text message from Tim:
My dad’s here
That's when Jason realizes what's happening.
Fucking fear toxin.
Between one rapid heartbeat and the next, the school has erupted into chaos.

Much to everyone's better judgement, it is not unusual for people to try and set up others with the Red Hood.
Jason has had more than a handful of old and impressed ladies try to sneak him the number of their grandsons as a thank you for the one time he fixed their roof (after crashing through it), or constantly asking him to come help them find a missing purse the same time their newly-single daughter is in town.
He always declines as politely as he can, or accepts the baked treat that comes with the number and just throws out the latter.
But this? This is a first.
(The Gotham Marina thinks Tim is cheating on Bernard with Red Robin, so they intervene. Jason is tired.)

"I kill so others don't have to," Bruce states firmly and clearly. This entire situation didn't seem like it could get any more bizarre, what with Bruce sitting in the dark and polishing guns, but somehow it just has, "While you are here you will not kill."
Jason's throat is scratchy and dry with terror, but the insatiable feeling of being talked over and disregarded is a fresh wound. He can't back down from this if he tried, "I've killed. I still kill. Who the fuck do you think you are to stop me?"
Bruce gently sets down his gun, and picks up the blade beside him with practised ease. Jason's blood runs cold when the man wearing his father's face says, "You will die by my hand if you try."
(Jason meets a version of Bruce who has manifested his fears very differently.)
